Ahlul Bait Centerโs community consists of more than 150 families most of which are under the age of 40. They are mostly new Iraqi immigrant of the early 1990s. In addition to the Iraqis, there are several other Arab nationalities such as Lebanese, Moroccans, Algerians, Palestinians, and a large number of students from Saudi Arabia (more than 20 families) who came to study in the Chicago area. More than 90% of the youth are under the age of 12.

a year agoMy visit to this Shia mosque left much to be desired. Regrettably, the atmosphere lacked the peacefulness I had hoped for, mainly due to the ongoing disruption caused by noisy and inconsiderate children who were consistently loud and couldn't refrain from talking to each other, even during class. My experience in the men's section was undeniably unpleasant. Furthermore, I observed that the children didn't take responsibility for cleaning up after themselves in the basketball court and would sometimes treat the mosque like a playground after the lectures ended. Additionally, some individuals would leave the mosque to eat at places like Wingstop and Food4Less during events, which disrupted the continuity of the communal experience.

a year agoToday my experience at the womenโs section was horrible. There was no place to sit, kids were yelling the whole time, womenโs theatrical crying was distracting from listening to the Maqtal. If you are a woman who wants to learn about the family of the prophet then I do not recommend this place. Women are not allowed in the actual lecture not even in the back, all you get is a tv screen which is not worth the trip. You might as well watch it from home. It does not feel like a real Dars

3 years ago$300 fee for a marriage contract!! Thatโs alot for many starting couples. Making this difficult is not the deen path. The shaykh is profiting from this which is haram.
