I love this mosque. Its leaders are good, and they always find ways to involve kids and families.

Alhamdulilah this is a beautiful mosque with great area for prayer and worship of Allah. Unfortunately, the brothers who lead the salah still engage in bidah (innovation) that stems from Desi countries. I am disappointed that this bidah of congregational dua after every salah is still continued, even though we have more information about the deen than ever before. I would like anyone in the masjid to show me where the prophet taught to make dua in congregation after every single salah. "The evilest matters in religion are those that are newly invented, for every newly invented matter is an innovation, every innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Hellfire.โ€ Source: Sunan al-Nasaฬ„โ€™iฬ„ 1578 Please, understand that whoever leads the ignorant in this bidah, the sin will fall on him if he has knowledge of its innovation. Dua in congregation is only allowed in certain occasions such as during the end of the Friday Kutbah, where the Khatib leads the dua.

I recently moved to Sterling Heights & found AMDA, a very peaceful & calm community to pray, until last Friday. One of the sisters ( who I think has taken a role of religious police) confronted me just before the jummah khutbah to ostracize me in front of the ladies on my clothes. I was wearing a long loose cardigan. She presented me with a transparent skirt to wear under my cardigan. I refused & told her this is between me & Allah subhana waTaallah. She was not happy & started saying this is haram. If this is a behavior of the elders in the masjid how will our youngsters who are growing up in the American society come to the mosque. Please let me know if there is a dress code which I am not aware of(wearing just abhaya) I would then select to go elsewhere. Thank you
