At Crescent Islamic Center, our mission is to create a welcoming and inclusive community for all Muslims, regardless of background, to enhance their spiritual growth and tolerance. Our aim is to foster understanding and connectivity with both the Muslim and non-Muslim community through effective interfaith partnership, education, worship, charity, outreach, and civic engagement. As a multicultural center, we strive to share information on Islam, its teachings, its history, and its culture to anyone with interest. We also serve as a gathering space for Islamic ceremonies, conferences, seminars, and meetings. Our goal is to be a place of worship and education where everyone feels welcome, respected, and valued.ย

5 months agoWonderful to see a purpose-built mosque where believers of various denominations gather together. We thoroughly enjoy visiting and using the facilities. The management does need to review the way donations are sought. Yes they should be requested and given out of the goodness of people's hearts, and spending 5 minutes on this is okay. But holding up prayer for 30 minutes+ on an important night is unfair, and leaves a bad taste in the mouth of the congregants. It is not the impression the management team would want to leave in people's hearts and minds. If it was going to be a fundraising event it should have been advertised as such.

5 months agoBeautiful mosque and atmosphere. However, Masjid is the house of Allah, not a donation house. They do 2 rakht prayer and ask for donations for another 30 mins and asking for $20,000 donationsโฆ. I hope to see some improvements in the management inshallah soon.

a year agoGreat mosque. Love it. First mosque where Sunni and Shia can pray under one roof. We should bring people together not divide. Amazing mosque from inside.

a year agoMosques serve as sacred places of worship, dedicated to prayers and spiritual connection. However, when these spaces are inaccessible to individuals seeking solace and prayer, they risk losing their true essence and becoming mere symbols. Recently, I encountered a disheartening situation in Chantilly, VA, where I patiently waited in front of the Islamic Center for about 20 minutes before the Asr prayer on a typically busy weekend for Muslims in North America. To my surprise, all the doors remained locked, and no one arrived during that time. Feeling frustrated, I eventually decided to leave. This incident led me to ponder whether this particular mosque prioritizes locals over visitors, contrary to the concept that our Prophet SAW greatly emphasized. While concerns about potential vandalism and security are valid, it is vital to also consider the impact on visitors and travelers who seek the solace of prayer within the mosque's embrace. There are various innovative approaches to address these concerns and accommodate guests. By doing so, we can ensure that the blessings of the mosque are shared with everyone who wishes to connect with the Almighty. May Allah bless the Muslims of Chantilly and shower His blessings upon all of us.
