All praises be to Allah, and prayer and peace be upon the prophet Muhammad. The Mission of the Dar Omar Al-Farooq is, first and foremost, to serve the deen of Allah (the religion of Allah). And Allah is the helper and the guider to the right way.
When I was a student here in U of MN and lived in Dinkytown, me and all of my Malaysian housemates went to pray here all the time. I love this mosque. Had a lot of good food and great friends here.
Absolutely amazing masjid/jamiโ. Before the pandemic I used to go here with a youth class, and I can say that this masjid is amazing in every way. The folks are welcoming, and the masjid is nice and modest. And overall the atmosphere is very comforting. And to add on to all these positives, the name is absolutely fabulous! Jazakum allah khair.
My partner came to US from Pakistan. We lived on Como for awhile during pandemic 2020. We found the mosque by accident during nightly walks. It was initially closed, as all religious places were. Once opened my partner Usman walked there for each prayer time.
All the people who are regulars, were wonderful and of course inviting and friendly and extremely welcoming! We could not say enough about the hospitality that was given considering the covid circumstances and safety measures stressing everyone out.
I can say my partner flew back from Pakistan again this year 2021 and we are making longer drives just to return to the mosque. As he said they recognize me now (a giant Pakistani beard helps).
Thank you all to Dar Omar Al-Farooq.
For anyone new there is ample parking available, if not in lot, there is a safe tree lined street. There is also a place for women to pray and a gas station across street on Como Ave.
