Daryoush is a unique dining experience, Authentic Persian cuisine with a beautiful setting. Located just half a block from UC Berkeley and BART at the CENTER of downtown..
I recently visited Daryoush, a newly opened Persian restaurant in downtown Walnut Creek, and had a delightful dining experience. The restaurant boasts a stylish interior and a warm, inviting ambiance that immediately sets the stage for a pleasant meal. The service was exceptional, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience.
Our server, Aielm, exemplified this dedication by assisting us in making informed decisions about our order. We were interested in trying dough, a yogurt drink, and vegan ghormeh sabzi. Aielm kindly offered us samples of both before we committed to our choices. This thoughtful gesture allowed us to taste the items and ultimately decide they didnโt suit our palate, sparing us any potential disappointment.
For our main course, we ordered bademjan and two chicken kabobs โ jujeh with bone and koobideh. Each dish was served with a generous portion of half rice and half salad, though we were informed we could opt for a full serving of either. The food arrived quickly and was beautifully presented, with everything tasting fresh and delicious. The kabobs were flavorful and perfectly cooked, and the bademjan was a standout dish with its rich, smoky flavor.
One notable aspect of our meal was the complimentary extras. We were given additional olives at no extra charge and the option to have dressings on the side, which we appreciated. The menu also offered a variety of vegan and healthy options, making it a great choice for health-conscious diners.
Overall, my experience at Daryoush was wonderful. The combination of excellent service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a place I would highly recommend. I look forward to returning frequently to explore more of their menu.
After reading other reviews I decided to try going to Daryoush. Excellent location the restaurant and Service was wonderful and met with owner. Owner fantastic and very friendly and he did come to table to greet us. Start with kashk Bademjan and Ash-Reshteh. It was great and expecting the rest food to be same. But I was wrong the kabob one was Salty and one no tast as first one. The rice had feeling in mouth we all on table could not continue eating it. Beside felt not cooked or hard or something plus dry. The tadig was so hard could not eat. I order falodeh Shiraz. Was served on plate instead of bowl plus used sweet lemon instead of being sour. But you should try since see some Persian people there and seemed enjoying the food. Possible were born here and never tasted real Persian food.
I recently dined at Daryoush and, as a Persian, I found the experience quite disappointing compared to the standards of a typical Persian restaurant. The meal started on a disheartening note when the waiter brought out a half onion as a starter, rather than the traditional spread of fresh greens, cheese, and nuts that one would expect.
The quality of the meat was merely average, lacking the rich flavors and tender texture characteristic of authentic Persian cuisine. To top it off, the rice served was reminiscent of Mexican rice, not the fragrant and fluffy Persian rice that is a staple of our culinary tradition. The lavash bread was from Trader Joeโs instead of being fresh Persian made.
Overall, it fell short of delivering a genuine Persian dining experience. Itโs a shame, as there is so much potential in sharing our rich culinary heritage, but this establishment failed to capture the essence and quality of authentic Persian food.
First time here today- very good Persian food. Had the combo plate- loveddd it. Roasted eggplant, hummus and tzatziki with soft pita. Tried my cousinโs chicken kabob and rice - very good!!!
Our server was helpful and friendly. We had my cousinโs birthday- enjoyed pistachio rose water ice cream!! Yum!! A little sweet but great!!!
****just a note- the bathroom was fairly clean, except โ- I saw some Black mold on the sink near the faucet, and on the side walls. Just fyi
Thanks
One of the best Persian restaurants in the East Bay. The food was amazing and the staff were professional and super fast. It's a must go restaurant, don't forget the baghlava and tee at the end.
