Dr. Qadeer is a fellowship-trained Orthopaedic sports medicine surgeon specializing in sports injuries and arthroscopic surgery. Dr. Qadeer is especially trained in shoulder surgery ranging from arthroscopic repairs/reconstructions to complex shoulder reconstructions. He has a particular interest in shoulder arthroplasty.
Dr. Qadeer is a native Houstonian and graduated Magna Cum Lauda from the University of Houston, The Honors College where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Dr. Qadeer completed his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) and Orthopaedic Surgery residency training at Baylor College of Medicine. During his residency he was awarded a travelling fellowship with the EFORT Foundation which took place in Bern, Switzerland with distinguished shoulder surgeon, Professor Ralph Hertel. He then went on to complete an ACGME accredited sports medicine fellowship at the San Diego Arthroscopy & Sports Medicine fellowship.
Dr. Qadeer has experience covering athletes at various levels. Dr. Qadeer has covered sideline matches/games for the Houston Sabercats, San Diego State Aztecs, San Diego Legion, San Diego Gulls and Second Baptist High School
Dr. Qadeer believes in a team-based approach to treating his patients. He believes the patient should be involved in a shared decision making process. Prior to surgical decision-making, he believes all non-surgical treatments should have been explored and considered. Dr. Qadeer is a sports surgeon and his mission is to help his patients return to the active lifestyles that their injuries are hindering them from.
In his free time, Dr. Qadeer enjoys spending time with his family, travelling and staying active. He enjoys running, hiking, camping, playing basketball and golf.
Dr. Qadeer is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America, Texas Orthopaedic Association and the Western Orthopaedic Association.
