2 months agoOver all hospital was great. Mother was moved into ICU on a Friday afternoon. My father and I was taken right to her room. Two recliner chairs in room, until we went to cafeteria do get food. Only to return to a hard plastic chair and 1 recliner. When asked the nurse about chair the Rn, stated all rooms should have couch and chair don't know where the other chair went. Said he would find something. Saturday the same Rn stated the care of your mother is more important than your comfort. Agreed until his down time is sitting or standing around talking or no where to be found when alarms are going off.. tends to stress a 89 yr old husband. Now Sunday is here and still same nurse no chair or couch. Makes it were we want to be with my mother but I would have to check in at ER with lower back pain if I stayed too long. Question is if every room can have 2 guest a couch and chair where was the couch in her room. Over all hospital is incredible and 90 % of staff very friendly. Nobody wants to be here as patient or family but a thank you, or other kind words would maybe lighten everything else going on with family during this stressful time.

3 weeks agoI'm writing this review from the ICU unit at Banner Desert. Three days ago, I experienced cardiac arrest in Cottonwood, Arizona. Anticipating I would need a higher level of care than the hospital in Cottonwood could provide the decision was made to AirEvac me closer to home. Two hospitals in being considered but Banner Desert was the only with an available bed in ICU. Shortly after the decision was made, my well-meaning niece called to tell me I didn't want to go there because of their poor reviews. But the decision had been made and I stuck with it. And I'm writing now to tell everyone how happy I have been with the care I am receiving. EVERYONE I've had contact with thus far has been friendly and so professional. I honestly couldn't ask for better care than I what I am receiving which is why I decided to write a review and why I'm giving them 5 Stars STATUS UPDATE: I had open heart surgery on Friday and I had the most amazing. The surgeon, Dr. Stein was terrific, and the surgical staff beyond my wildest expectations and the care and concern they offered myself and my wife today I was released from ICU and taken down to the telemetry unit where again the staff has been phenomenal. Just want you to know that ratings are always what they might seem to be

a month agoI had a wonderful experience with 3 nurses the past week! I went in because I couldn't breath. I was admitted then not long after put in the ICU. Diego, Cecelia, and Taylor were the Best nurses!! They all went above and beyond to make my Boyfriend and I more comfortable with everything that was happening around us!! The other nurses didn't know what they were doing or didn't care. Taylor, Diego, and Cece were all exceptional in my opinion and I am very thankful for their help with getting me back to a healthy stage in this chapter I'm coming upon in life.

a week agoThis review is regarding the staff on housekeeping and the wonderful men and women who do the little things.I met Mawr Bryant who came to clean my room. Such a pleasant man who brightened up my day. I can name you every single one of my nurses, Courtney, Heather Deidre. The nurses aids Daisy Norma. Savannah. My emergency care nurses name was Emma my transport personnel was Emma and Leroy. They were such wonderful people who made my stay so much nicer than it was. The food used to be a whole lot better it has so gone downhill, but thank you Banner. You save my life.๐ฏ

a month agoMy 74 year old father has been to Banner Desert 3 times within the last month for a low heart rate and atrial fibrillation. He has an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) yet, after they interrogated the ICD, they said there are no events recorded. Clearly he had events so why is the ICD not recording them? Furthermore, why is the ICD not working to keep his heart rate up and in rhythm? Every X-ray, ultrasound, and CT scan has come back negative. During his last visit, my parents were told he needed to stay overnight for observations. My dad attempted to have a smoke break but was denied. They eventually gave him a nicotine patch at 8:00 the next morning. My 73 year old mother has severe Rheumatoid Arthritis and congestive heart failure and not once did they offer her a recliner in the 9 hours she waited until they could admit him. Once they had admitted my father, she asked if she could have a recliner and she was told they do not have any available and gave her a plastic chair. There were more than 10 available recliners nearby, including one in the next to theirs. It also took the staff over an hour to get them water and tea. The cafeteria was closed for cleaning so I offered to have food delivered to them. It was almost 10:00 so very difficult to find a place nearby that was not only open but on the delivery list. The staff finally found some sandwiches for them after they heard me on speaker phone. After the 24 hour observation, they told my parents his enzymes were normal so they released him. They never looked at his medication to see if there was an issue and sure enough, at least 2 of his medications should not be taken together. It is sad how hospitals have become corporate extensions that are more concerned with profit than upholding their hippocratic oath.
