a month agoThe office is extremely clean and bright. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and very nice. With shuttle from Bart itโs a great location (except the shuttle does not run between 10:30 -2:30). I really appreciate the doctor being straight forward with all his answers to my questions and seemed knowledgeable in his answers. I would recommend this doctor to anyone who needs a neuro surgeon.

2 months agoIt was a pleasure to meet Dr. Zakaria. He was attentive and kind. He compared my recent X-rays to past X-rays, clearly explaining everything. He was encouraging. I left with a plan for improvement with physical therapy, knowing that he is there for me if I need help in the future. It was clear that he likes what he does and he cares about his patients.

a month agoSUTTER HEALTH RULES----STANFORD HEALTH DROOLS I went to Dr. Hesham Zakaria, Sutter Health seeking Kyphoplasty for a T12 Compression fracture in my spine. He told me my bones were too weak and the procedure would cause more fractures. He referred me to Endocrinology so I could start strengthening my bones telling me, "not now" but maybe in a year after your bones are stronger. I should have listened to Dr. Zakaria but instead I went to a Stanford Spine Surgeon for a second opinion. The Stanford Doc said, "your bones are not that bad, I'll do the procedure". When he did the Kyphoplasty on the T12, it caused a new fracture in the L1 Vertebrae, (just as Dr. Zacharia predicted) Then the Stanford Spine Surgeon did a second Kyphoplasty to correct the new fracture in the L1 which caused 2 additional new fractures, one in my Pelvis and one in my Hip. OUCH!!!!!!!The Pain was excruciating and caused my back to bend over. I have lost mobility, have increased chronic pain and I tire very easily. My health is declining. I went back to Dr. Zakaria, hat in hand, asking him to help me. He never lectured me or admonished me for my stupidity; he was exceedingly kind and caring. He's carefully evaluating my situation and I'm hopeful for a solution. Regardless, it feels so good to be his patient because he's very conscientious and careful. He's there for his patients; not just trying to fill up his surgery slots like the Stanford Surgeon was. I wish I had listened to Doctor Zakaria from the beginning.

2 months agoI have seen Dr. Zakaria twice for sciatica in my left leg and hip. He has been professional, caring, thorough and open-minded at each meeting. I feel like he is genuinely concerned and wants to help me. Dr. Zacheria is willing to consider a range of possible causes and possible treatments. My problem is a bit of a mystery and I'm grateful he's making the effort to get to the bottom of it.
