Dr. Jamila Cherry is originally from Oakland, CA. She graduated from Florida A&M University with a BS in Animal Science and went on to earn her DVM degree from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Cherry completed a Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Internship in Sacramento, California. She is primarily interested in emergency medicine as well as integrative medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Cherry is a freelance gallery artist and commissioned painter. She enjoys cooking, yoga, and spending time with her family.
This is the first time I feel I didn't get the service my 13th years old chihuahuas deserves. I was charge $160 for the Emergency visit but the doctor even provided a good examination. My dog nose smells like an infection but the only medicine I was told to buy was zertec. THESE PICTURES WERE TAKEN AFTER WE LEFT THE BUILDING NOT SURE WHY THEY CHARGE FOR AN EMERGENCY VISIT IF THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE THE SERVICE BECAUSE THEY WERE ABOUT TO CLOSED. NOW THEY ALSO WANT ME PAY ANOTHER $160 FOR ANOTHER EMERGENCY URGENT CARE VISIT IF SHE DOESN'T FEEL OK IN THE NEXT 5 DAYS.
Amazing, patient and compassionate care in person and on the phone. Iโve had 5 dogs throughout my life and Iโve been bringing them here for their care. Very fairly priced and I feel the money I give them for vet care goes back to the community with their mobile vet clinics and programs. I donโt feel like Iโm getting pressured to get services I donโt need unlike other privately owned vet clinics where they try to pressure me into getting unnecessary services or medicine only to make pure profit. Here, I feel my money going to a good cause.
They were very supportive in helping my first family dogโs passing. It was our first loss and it was not easy. When they learned she had passed in our home, they mailed me a card with a handwritten message and signatures from the staff who cared for her. Fast forward 3 years later, I have the card near her memorial. It was such a thoughtful and kind gesture.
Currently, Iโve got two puppies. Iโm excited to start and continue their care here and Iโm confident theyโre in good hands. I canโt stop raving to family and friends about SPCA and definitely recommend them. Thank you ๐ป
I put a deposit on the cost of care and actually got a refund. Normally they'll take the deposit for the lowest and that money is gone but when they were helping my dog with her ear issue there ended up not being anything that need to be removed so they refunded like 40% of the cost. Also My sweet late Pigly Wiggly dog had an adverse reaction to anesthesia and they did CPR for over 2 minutes to bring her back. I'm a frontline health care provider and I got to tell you I've seen people try to give up on other people in less than 2 minutes.
This hospital is one of the best. I fully support SPCA. They show me they have true animal love! They are not money hungry. I have never been in a situation where I had to pay first for my pet to get treated. They have always taken her in and gave her treatment with care and love, and then I went to pay my dues. All staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I can honestly say if it is SFSPCA I feel like my "Dory" is in good hands! Thank you to all the staff and I really wish this can be a 24 hospital because it beats everything else in my opinion. God bless you all and thank you for always taking care of my Dory she loves you all!
Very nice staff and doctors! Called to book an appointment but thet were all booked out for the next couple of months. Just a week later gave me a call for a spot that opened up and I was able to get my puppy spayed there. They gave me clear instructions and guidance post surgery and the scar is very tiny, healing very nicely :)
