I recently was here for a procedure that consisted of 2 surgeries, 2 weeks apart. The first surgery I stayed overnight. The second surgery was an outpatient procedure. Both surgeries went smoothly and I had excellent care. Everyone we interacted with, was great! I had to check in at 5:30AM and parked at the opposite end of the complex. We walked in and stood there looking lost. At that moment a woman walked in and saw us and asked us did we need directions. We told her and she said she worked in the mailroom and told us to follow her and she would take us there. She was so friendly and helpful, and that describes everyone there. Check in was fast and they got me right in and ready for surgery. From the pre-op nurse to the post-op nurse to the nurse on the floor where I stayed, they were all amazing! I had a room on the 17th floor and it was the nicest hospital room I've ever been in. I don't have single complaint about the whole experience.

This review is written from the visitor point of view; I was not a patient. Pros: This hospital has elegant decor, nice attending staff to help you navigate through the massive space, a well tended gift shop with lots of items, a full cafeteria with almost anything you might want to eat, a gorgeous doll house display, and even a pretty courtyard along side of a interior gathering area complete with a piano player. The entrance is on the monorail system with a stop right near the doors. All these things are nice, but wait, thereโ€™s more. Cons: The location is very far from my home area of the Memorial District. The med center is right by Rice University, which is both a very uppity area but also a very transient area. Valet parking is almost always full leading you to wind your way through the 10 level also completely full parking garage. We parked on level 10, but due to where the elevator is located, we had to walk to level 9. The stairs we passed smelled of urine. When we exited the elevator, the smell of trash was overwhelming. When we crossed the small street to get to the entrance, the smokers outside were less than concerned about us inhaling their smoke. Once inside, the massive space is hard to navigate. Iโ€™ve heard multiple people rave about Methodist Hospitals and their level of care. Many people I know, prefer them over Memorial Hermann. My dad was in for back surgery. His room was originally the ICU wing, so it was quite large. His nurse was very nice and personable. I liked the presentation of the hospital, but I canโ€™t imagine going down there and having to fight traffic, plus dealing with the parking, if it was personally my choice. I didnโ€™t feel it was fair to give three stars since most of what I am reviewing is not based on a patientโ€™s point of view. The extra star given was due to my dadโ€™s satisfaction with his experience.

Visited the ER. The woman who checked my vitals (twice- once when I got there and once after a ct scan), the physician, 2 nurses I interacted with and the guy who wheeled me back from and advised me on my ct scan was phenomenal. I got here around 2-2:10 this afternoon. Im still here at 5:20 but Iโ€™m almost out of here. I have been here before but only at night. My experience today with the โ€œday shiftโ€ has been very pleasant. Night shift usually takes longer to get through the process and the staff seems to be a bit more rambunctious (at least when Iโ€™ve been there it was like that). I do not like going to ER but if I have to, I will always come here. Iโ€™ve watched the staff with all walks of life today and itโ€™s a beautiful thing to see they care for us each equally and as an individual. Never a one size fits all thing. There are always bad apples but today, Iโ€™ve havenโ€™t had the displeasure of seeing or hearing any. Very grateful for the staff that cared for me today. Keep up the good work and thanks for what you do.

I canโ€™t believe how horrible and unprofessional this hospital is they just want your insurance money. They told me that they had to take a test like 3 times cause they did not submit it the first two times. Smh sorry if you have to come to this mess of a medical environment. The only reason why I gave it 3stars is cause of some of these nurses and nurse assistants were friendly.

My wife and I decided a long time ago we wanted to establish medical care at the Texas Medical Center. One of our friends was a doctor there and recommended a Primary Care physician at Methodist. Whether weโ€™ve been out of the country and needed to return for emergency care, or just needed a physical exam, it all went smoothly within the Methodist system. MyChart makes it so easy to visit with anyone at any of the hospitals, downtown or Katy.
