>Dr. Karim Lotfy is board certified in both; Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. He completed his medical training in Cairo University, Egypt where he received outstanding honors. He completed his psychiatry training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas where he was chief resident and received many awards for his exceptional performance and dedication to training, research and education.
Over the past decade Dr. Lotfy has developed a refined expertise in working with all psychiatric disorders in the adult population, he is an expert in psychopharmacology/medication management and meticulously monitors medication effects while informing his patients of what to expect from their treatment.
He has developed a specialty in working withย mood disorders and addictive disorders, the latter includes substance use disorders where he favors a gradual harm reduction approach. He also likes to work with other behavioral addictions such as video games, social media, compulsive sexual behaviors, workaholism, and others.
