Dr. Mohamed Adam Shaban is a fellowship-trained, board-certified pediatric gastroenterologist with Pediatric Gastroenterology Associates of Southern California (PGASC) at the Long Beach and Torrance offices.
His clinical interests include hepatology, including the emerging incidence of fatty liver disease in children; inflammatory bowel disease (Crohnโs disease, ulcerative colitis); childhood obesity and nutrition, and advancements in endoscopic technology for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Dr. Shaban received his medical degree from the Alexandria University School of Medicine. Then he completed his residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Paul L. Foster School of Medicine in El Paso TX.ย He then completed a three year fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at Westchester Medical Center, New York Medical College, Valhalla NY.ย He is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology.
Dr. Shaban is an active member of the North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology (NASPGHAN). He received an award in studying the impact of breastfeeding friendly environments, and services on promoting healthy weight gain in newborn infants during his residency.ย He was involved in community outreach podcast navigating infant formula shortage with Valley Childrenโs Hospital.
