Dr. Mohammad Chaudhry, MD is an Anesthesiologist in Lubbock, TX. They currently practice at Practice. Their office is not accepting new patients. Dr. Chaudhry is board certified in Anesthesiology and accepts multiple insurance plans.
Admitted through ER and sent to Cardiology ICU. I was treated with the upmost respect by all of my Nurses, Doctors, Techs, Cleaning Staff! The rooms were clean, food was good. If I needed to be in a hospital, Covenant Medical Center was a great choice for me! I would recommend it to all!
Besides what we all have experienced during an emergency hospital visit or crisis. We all deserve to be treated with compassion, dignity, respect, and kindness. Long waits rude unprofessional employees with titles, who have no shame in discrimination, racism, denying the immediate care of elderly and the mentally challenged. This hospital has always employed people who can not understand the mission statement. On the other hand those employees who rarely receive recognition for their service should be praised because they do not practice oppression like most of the others!
The ER is ridiculous. Checked in for sepsis after my testosterone pellet injection became infected and being diagnosed at an urgent care clinic. The Dr. there examined my infected spot and said that the pellet needed to be removed and the area drained because the firmness and size of the infected area was severe. All this was relayed to the nurse during check-in. Still in the waiting after 7 hours. Watched an unconscious patient on i.v. drip become completely limp before someone took her back. Little girl around 8 yrs old that is obviously distraught about the stickes needed in her eyebrow has been here for over 3 hours. If an ER is going to run this way there should be a wait time posted. No way anyone would stay here knowing it would take hours to be seen.
This is an extremely long review. The doctors and nurses seem to want to keep finding things wrong with you for no reason. My dad was in for an ER surgery and the surgery was a success. My dad was given the surgeons blessing to be released but we had to wait on the attending physician. The doctor that came on the floor said he wouldn't release my dad because he had a low heartbeat.
A bit more history is needed to bring everything into context now that we are actually out of the hospital. My dad has had a low heartbeat since he was a kid. His heart rate goes up when he is active. His PCP knows this, the surgeons that have worked on him in the past knows this, and even with this visit, no one expressed any concern with his heart beat, including his surgeon WHO, btw, actually said he was upset with the lack of communication from other medical staff (talk about mad mad, he was VERY mad). Even the doctors over anesthesiology that were in the operating room with Dad had no issues when they put him under.
Now, onto what happened the rest of the day.
The day that we are scheduled to leave, the surgeon, who is the ONLY one who really had any say, gave his blessing to leave. Then another doctor (attending physician that knew nothing about my dad) said OH, you have a low heartbeat. We're going to keep you. Ok, one night for observations to show them there isn't anything wrong, right? Well, they moved us to the ghetto floor with unprofessional and rude staff and then we waited. The cardiologist came in and checked dad out, said he was asymptomatic, wanted to observe over night to make sure nothing was happening, then said we could go home in the morning. The attending physician, same guy that is general (NOT THE ACTUAL CARDIOLOGIST) ORDERED AN ECHO test for my dad which was unnecessary and was going to make my dad stay AGAIN which would have left him staying over the weekend. When we refused the medical treatment as it was not necessary, the extremely rude and pushy charge nurse was like, sure, we'll let you go, but it will be AMA. Uh, NO! That would have left dad paying the whole bill! Then she played stupid, saying that didn't know what AMA was (AS THE FLOOR'S CHARGE NURSE), and I could just go on and on about her and her threats to keep us there or put us in financial ruin. Finally, I called social services, contacted the insurance company, spoke to the assistant main nurse over all the nurses in the hospital, then finally the doctor (attending physician, AGAIN) came in and said Oh, well we can do this as outpatient. I dug into him with both heels, then the charge nurse for their lack of communication, professionalism, and blatent disregard for patient care. Long story short, we got out, officially discharged, not ama, and we left.
After talking to a few people and recollecting a situation with a coworker whose WIFE was kept without real reason in that same hospital, we realized that this hospital isn't anything but a business. They don't care. If you have someone paying the bill in full (like my dad did), they are willing to find EVERYTHING wrong with you to keep you for that almighty dollar. I'm SO disappointed and utterly disgusted! I told my husband that if I ever get so sick I have to go elsewhere, send me anywhere but there! And then don't give them my insurance information until just before I sign the paper to be discharged!
They were fast to get me out of the ER and into the hospital but when it was time to discharge, they hurried me even quicker to get out of my room and park me the recovery room. The nurse named Thea was the rudest of all on the 4th floor. She was the nurse that was trying to get me out fast. The nurse Imelda, CNA Haylee were fantastic.
