Went for surgery. High anxiety since I work in the medical field. Doctor Jeanette Lager was amazing and patient with me. Facilities modern, and clean. Not one bad encounter with any of the staff or nursing. Amazing. The updated my family well during surgery. Incisions look great- optimal results!! Far exceeded my expectations.

The whole UCSF system gets a solid thumbs down. Prolonged wait for treatment. My wife nearly died waiting for surgery. They made me feel like they didn’t care and we were just a number. Lots of travel/temporary nurses here on staff which tells you ALOT about the hospital. Honestly, went here because it was supposed to be the best. Passed up Sutter and Dignity to go here. Regret that decision. After the s$&! Show here we went to dignity and had a completely different experience. They actually cared and didn’t leave us in suspense waiting for treatment. After the treatment with dignity my wife is now cancer free. Had we stayed with UCSF since have no doubts she would be dead.

This is a combined rate: 5+stars for nurses (they amazing!!!!!) and 3 stars to doctors. And again some doctors deserved 5 stars (attending doctors change every 3-4 days, then they will pass you to the next doctor). By the time the last doctor during my son’s admission took over, he completely misrepresented the diagnosis all previous specialists had given my son based on test results and history of the illness, as well as the main reason my son was admitted to the hospital. He also refused to provide a consultation with specialists my son’s PCP requested. Beautiful view from a private room on 13th floor

This place is not the hype some people make it out to be. Some of the nurses there need to not be nurses. One of the doctors was very noshalaunt. My daughter went in for an outpatient procedure and came out with her face droopy tongue not moving and left leg barely moving, she asked to be tested to see if she had a mini stroke and the the Nuerologist said he didn't think it was that said it's probably Bell's Palsy ( that only affects the face not the lower extremities and I'm not a doctor) whats so hard to test to cover all areas. A male nurse made her go pee without help knowing how her leg was. No one had answer to what was going on with her but were in a hurry to discharge! My daughter clearly needed a walker and they did nothing to help her with that not even write an order!! There's so much more, I am very disappointed with her experience at UCSF and pray none of those people ever need help and not get it! Yep most are just there for a pay check and not truly do not care for the patients.

My family is very grateful and thankful with the entire Liver Transplant team at UCSF. Brother Jose Jauregui [receiver) sister Margarita Jauregui [doner] had major liver transplant on April 12, 2024 and the Dr's and entire team did an amazing Job. Dr. Robert's (husband and wife both performed the surgery along with Dr. Cortes and other drs). Unbelievable, just one day after surgery, they are both up and walking. In ICU floor 13, they were under the care of amazing nurses. One, in particular that we are amazed with was Alexandra Adel, she is very dedicated and attentive. Her love and care makes every patients stay in ICU less painful and difficult. Want everyone to know that we notice and appreciate everything you guys have done for our family. God is great and Miracles do happen. This was his 2nd liver transplant for my brother. 1st one was 18 yrs ago. Thank you UCSF they are expected to be here for 2 to 3 weeks. I feel at ease, since I know they will be in great hands.
