Established in 1966.
In 1966, Anton and Zahie Nijmeh moved their family to San Jose, CA. They wanted to create a business that provided healthy and authentic foods for their children and their community.
Their passion for home cooking drove them to open up a Drive-In.
He started by selling hamburgers and slowly introduced his customers to his delicious falafels made from his own recipe.

a month agoWe tried this place last weekend, and it was great! Their pita bread burger and onion rings were awesome, with the onion rings being my personal favorite. The baklava was fresh and delicious. The only downside was that the falafel was a bit salty for my taste, but that could be subjective. The place gets crowded on weekends, but it's definitely worth trying.

a month agoAmazing falafel and mediterranean food place! It was super busy when I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. Food is very reasonably priced and portion was fairly large. I got the large falafel and banana shake combo for $13. Price includes tax. The banana shake tasted like a melted banana laffy taffy, which was delicious. The falafel was warm and absolutely delicious! It came with a white and red sauce and both were absolutely delicious. Thereโs a tiny kick of spice so if youโre sensitive to that be cautious. Nonetheless I absolutely recommend this place and am definitely planning to return!

2 months agoIf you want to try real falafel, visit this place! The ambiance is inviting, with traditional and modern touches. The falafel sandwich is exceptional, featuring crispy, flavorful falafel, fresh veggies, and creamy tahini sauce, all wrapped in warm pita bread. The ingredients are fresh, and the staff are friendly. This is the spot for an authentic Arabic falafel experience ๐คค Must try

5 months agoIn the heart of San Jose, amidst the hustle and bustle, lies Falafel's Drive Inโa haven of flavors and nostalgia. Amidst the lunch rush, I found myself drawn to its retro charm, reminiscent of a bygone era. The fries, crispy and golden, were a delightful prelude to the main act: the vegan-friendly pita falafel sandwich. Laden with a unique spicy sauce, it danced on my palate, a symphony of sweetness and heat. As I waited amidst the crowded atmosphere, the anticipation only heightened the experience. The pita, when it finally arrived, proved to be a satiating delight, fulfilling both hunger and nostalgia in equal measure. Despite the hustle, the ambiance inside was surprisingly pleasant, a testament to the establishment's enduring charm. Though the outdoor patio was abuzz with patrons, I found solace within the cozy confines of the interiorโa convenient respite for weary travelers staying at the nearby hotel. In the midst of the chaos, Falafel's Drive In stood as a unique beacon of tradition and tasteโa culinary adventure worth savoring.

4 months agoWe enjoyed our falafel balls with hummus. I also tried their vegan onion rings. Husband had chicken pita which was okay-ish for him. Pigeons roaming around was bit off for his hygiene-freak mind. I didnโt mind it at all as they were minding their own business. I also liked the graffiti on walls! There was not much of wait time for us today noon.
