I love shopping at this store for my daily fruits and vegetables! Everything is fresh, and the best part is that you can handpick and select your produce, just like at a farmerโs market. Itโs a great place to find quality produce that feels farm-to-table fresh. In addition to fruits and veggies, they have a decent selection of grocery products, and the variety of cheese is impressive. Overall, itโs a convenient and pleasant shopping experience with a great range of fresh and packaged items. Highly recommend!
Last week I was in the area and had to cook for a group for several days, needed a variety of fresh produce, and read all the positive reviews of Felipe's Market. Goodness! I picked up several pounds of the best looking freshest heirloom tomatoes ever! The rest of the market is just amazing as all the locals already know as the parking lot was completely full. The prices were right. Many thanks to all at Felipe's!!!
You will find great value for veggies & fruits there if you knew whatโs freshness. Over years I always pick up fresh veggies and fruits from farmerโs market or different Asian markets, so this is another great place for me to Enhance my experiences & pick-up skills. Itโs like a farmerโs market always there, not just on weekends!
A lot of produce both inside and out, including tomatillo, manzano and chilaca peppers, Daikon, napa cabbage, great variety of fresh herbs (cilantro, tarragon, dill, mint, parsley, rosemary, thyme etc.) bananas, guavas, pomegranate, kale, carrots, grapes etc.
It could be a one stop shop, if you're cooking American, Asian, Mexican, Russian/Ukrainian, etc but maybe not Indian/Pakistani since Apna Bazaar is right next door.
The problem is that it can be a 1-5 star on any given day (which you could say the same about Whole Foods, La Plaza, Nijiya, Safeway, Draegers, Andronicos, Lucky's, Mollie Stone's etc.). For example, today the tomatillo were decent but manzanos were mushy, chilaca tips dry, herbs were wilty, potatoes okay, bell peppers soft wrinkly, Daikon good, blackberries white fuzzy mold, Digestive biscuits expiring next month ($1 off), grass fed whole milk fresh with good expiry dates and so on. Another day, they may have the best parsnips, horseradish, shallots, turmeric, all things hard to find fresh in this area.
If you live nearby, give it a try, maybe there is something for you.
Given that we live much closer to aforementioned stores, we generally don't make a trip here unless we are already in the area, grabbing a bite from nearby Madras Cafe and have the extra time.
For those who enjoy cured salted smoked fish and meat, they have a good selection.
The freezer section is full of pelmeni, medovik, and other eastern European goodies.
They also carry German and Italian honeys, and lots of snacks. Just make sure to check the dates, depending on the turnover they may be expiring soon.
