Based in San Leandro, this family-run company got its start in Anaheim, California. For the past 15 years, they have worked with local and statewide farms and vendors to bring their local, seasonally-inspired hummus to the Bay Area. They offer over 15 flavors of hummus and many accompanying food items including tapenades, grape leaves, and pita chips. Traditional techniques and small-batch productions are employed at their kitchen to give their products a North-African and Mediterranean flavor.
They source organic and seasonal items from the farmers’ markets when available and take great pride in finding the best local ingredients all yearlong.

2 months agoAt the Fremont Farmers Market, the Hummus Haven stand was outstanding. Their Hummus was excellent, and we eat home made Hummus often. Great pita chips. The sales person was exceptionally helpful. We need to visit the San Leandro location soon.

a month agoTheir hummus and spreads are amazing but the REAL treasure is their yogurt. The flavor is perfect and no extra sugars. I bought the berry one and the coconut. This will probably be something I keep stocked in my fridge for sure

4 months agoThe hummus is good (4 stars). The 3 stars (-1stars) is because the customer service at River Island Farmers Market was odd. He mumbled a lot and said random words when we asked him questions about the hummus. When I made two selections for purchase, he added that a third option would be $4. To clarify, I asked him, โso itโs $4 each ($12)?โ He nodded and said, โyes.โ Once it came time to make my purchase, he presented the payment device to me with the screen facing down. I thought it was odd but continued anyway. Once the transaction was complete, I took a glance at the screen for the split second I could before he turned it away once again, and it showed a total of $18.50. I looked up at him expecting some type of communication, such as to ask if I wanted a receipt or to leave a tip; He looked at me and with a sassy tone said, โBye.โ My husband and I walked away with a really bad taste in our mouth; but it wasnโt the Hummus. Overall, the product is good. However, the lack of transparency and communication, at least with our experience, was a bit off putting.
