The Islamic Association of Greater Detroit (IAGD) is a diverse, vibrant, and historic community that was established over forty years ago. We seek to facilitate and provide spiritual, educational, and social services to those residing in the Greater Detroit area, as well as communities abroad. IAGD hosts a variety of regular prayers and programming, for all ages and demographics, throughout the year. Our goal is to properly adapt the teachings of the Islamic faith and provide an opportunity to all people to employ a lifestyle of purpose and good, while working together to ensure we grow together as one unified local and global community.

a week agoAlhamdulillah, I had the opportunity to perform the Friday prayer (Solat Jumaat) here for the first time in the United States. It was a unique experience to observe the differences in the Friday sermon (khutbah). The mosque is beautiful, with impressive Islamic architecture. I will definitely visit again if I return to the United States.

2 months agoMa Shaa Allah, beautiful mosque, I was there for iftar, and they served some dates, juice, and a few traditional appetizers that brothers brought in Jazahom Allah khayran, If you are a trucker, forget about parking in their lot for Jumaa prayer because the entrances are tight for a truck and let alone if you have a trailer too, and there's no street parking either.

2 weeks agoThe new section is very open and does not feel cramped. The interior was very tidy and well-maintained. My only nitpick is that I wish that the prayer hall did not have so many windows. It becomes a distraction, especially if there happens to be something going on outside.
