The Islamic Association of Collin County (IACC) is an Islamic Community Center in the heart of Plano, TX. It offers a place of worship, provides a variety of Islamic education, and offers various services to congregants and the local community.
Iโve been coming to this mosque pretty much my entire life and Iโve seen it grow from the late 90s in the early 2000s to what it has become now firstly warms my heart, secondly it has an immensely wonderful Islamic school/masjid. The community is diverse and welcoming, the sermons are informative and relevant. Most importantly the leaders are solid. May Allah continue to bless this house of his. Main building, gym, and other facilities are clean. Ramadan nights are absolutely packed.
My wife and I recently moved to the area and were excited to visit the masjid for the first time. Unfortunately, our experience was less than welcoming.Upon our arrival, we were met with what felt like hostility and prejudice from both the security staff and the Sunday school staff, who appeared to assume that we were not Muslim and did not belong in the masjid.
The behavior we encountered was not only rude but also contrary to the values of Islam, which saddened us deeply.Given this experience, we have decided not to return to this masjid and will instead make the drive to EPIC.
We hope that this feedback can serve as an opportunity for reflection and improvement, as no one should feel unwelcome in a place of worship.
I went there from 8 am till afternoon seeking help the security laughed at me and said Noone is gonna help then the president told a lady there to help . She said at first she will help put me in a hotel for two days then said I'll put u for one day and my friend will help for another day after that she was gonna throw me on the high way and lastly she said she's gonna drive yo Houston and drove so fast I asked to stop cz I don't knkw anyone here she then dropped me to epic mosque and left and the others called the police on me and chased me all the way down the road with the police just because I was asking for help!!!! Where's their manners nad humanity ! They need to learn how to be real human beings before working at mosques!
Great place to meet some wonderful set of people. IACC is probably also called as Plano Mosque. It so organized and disciplined. It is a symbol of religious harmony and friendship between Muslims, Christians and Jews. I heard they share their parkings to each other if required. Free clinic, food bank ( provided irrespective of religion), religious teaching classes etc. and so on.
Mashallah, the best managed "larger" masjid in Texas. Excellent blend of staff comprising all age groups and major backgrounds. A variety of active programs to keep the next generation involved.
Facilities are well designed and properly maintained.
Full disclosure: I am not a member. I have attended only two events since 2017.
