6 months agoThe Davis masjid is a beautiful facility. Clean, well-maintained, and a great community. Unfortunately the imam, Sheikh Ammar, is very inaccessible. As soon as a prayer or class is over, he puts 100% of his attention to his phone, or quickly walks to his car and leaves. If you try to approach him, he pays very little attention, sometimes not even looking at you. He usually does not respond to emails or texts. He used to advertise that he had office hours, but he rarely would show up to them, or forget that you requested an appointment to speak to him. He makes the masjid feel “cliquey” and only talks to his closest students. His social media following has grown massively, and he’s becoming the “famous” sheikh who doesn’t have time for the individuals in the community. It doesn’t match up. Davis is a small town, and the masjid should have an imam who focuses on the small-town community, rather than trying to get TikTok views. I think he’s a good person, but Sheikh Ammar wants to outreach to a massive audience, and he would be better suited for a large masjid.

2 years agoThis review is coming from someone who has lived most of his life in a country that really takes care of mosques. I was astonished to see how well this place is built and taken care of. The imam and community are very welcoming. The speeches given by imam Ammar during Friday prayers are touching. Ramadan here is also unforgettable. I know for sure that I will miss this place.
