A Gem in the Neighborhood: Islamic Center of DeKalb
I had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful and clean masjid nestled in the heart of the neighborhoodโs Main Street. As you approach, the building suddenly appears, a magnificent structure with a high vaulted ceiling that immediately catches the eye. The serene ambiance of the place is truly captivating.
During prayer time, the soul-stirring recitation by the young Mufti Safdar was a highlight. His voice resonated beautifully, making the Salah a memorable experience. ู ุงุดุขุกูุงููู.
We also attended a captivating program featuring a speech by the renowned Mufti Hassan Shaikh titled โStories of Great Leaders of Islam.โ From the moment Mufti Hassan began until he concluded, we were enthralled. His storytelling was so engaging that it felt like time stood still as we soaked in the rich history he shared.
The hospitality of the staff and community members was exceptional. They attended to our every need with warm smiles, making us feel truly welcomed. One particular member, Abdullah, stood out with his constant eagerness to assist and his friendly demeanor.
If I find myself in the area again, or even just passing through, I would definitely stop by to pray and enjoy the wonderful company of these kind-hearted people.
Everyone is nice and respectful just the food smell especially during Ramadan is way too strong so carpets should be cleaned everyday after iftar, people can voulanteer to do that especially during Ramadan and i think a lot of people would be happy to help
Ma Sha Allah. Beautiful. The musllah was clean but the South Asian smell was rather strong. I will say both brothers and sisters toilets were not clean.
Used to come here and pray with ease, the Masjid was always open even between prayer times. Now this semester front door is is locked and seems no brothers are inside :(
