Khyber Pass Zarparan Restaurant

I have been wanting to go here for years and finally had a chance to go with my wife for a Friday lunch. Parking can be a little tough, but there is free street parking and pay lots nearby. The restaurant atmosphere is super cool inside and the wait staff was incredibly friendly. The food was delicious. We got an appetizer platter and loved it. We ate the entire appetizer platter, including extra Pita bread, and almost ruined our appetites before our entrées arrived. The main meals were delicious. I also got the vegetarian platter with 4 different items and different rices. I will definitely go again (next time not on a Friday during Lent so that I can try some of the entrées with meat options). I will also recommend to friends and others.

My family and I enjoyed the Badenjan(eggplant dish) and beef combo plate! The flavors were so delicious. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. We make an effort to come here when we are in San Diego to enjoy the yummy food!

We've dined at Khyber Pass many times. You can always rely on receiving a delicious meal. I have a lot of allergies and the server checked with the kitchen to make sure my food didn't contain anything that I should not eat. He suggested Fesenjan stew with chicken. It's rich and has a meaty, sauce. There was enough to take home for second luscious dinner. My husband had the beef kabob which was tender and very flavorful. There are plenty of options available when I feel like a eating vegan meal.

Tried this restaurant first thing of the plate with my family on our vacation to San Diego, and the food did not disappoint! We tried the chicken, beef, and lamb dishes, very fresh and flavorful. Meat was super juicy. Had the tea, firni, and saffron ice cream for dessert and it was all delicious as well. The decorations in the restaurant were also very beautiful and nice to look at. Recommend this place for some tasty, halal Persian food!

Went here on a Thursday night and really enjoyed myself. The food was absolutely delicious and fresh tasting. The service was quick and hospitable. I will definitely come back. I have the rice with a cherry sauce. It was so so good.
