History
Established in 1981.
La Mediterranee on Noe opened in September of 1981. Situated in the heart of the Castro District, La Med has been serving award winning dishes to locals and visitors alike. Mid-East and Mediterranean cuisine inspired by founder Levon Der Bedrossian’s Armenian and Lebanese family recipes. His long term partner Alicia Vanden Heuvel runs the front of house while his son Vanick keeps the kitchens running with dishes prepared from scratch daily. Serving affordable lunch specials, an awesome Happy hour, and perfect-first-date Dinner services, our cozy cafe is always welcoming. Locals love to catch a table at our new outdoor, heated parklet, enjoying a glass of wine while people watching on a sunny afternoon…. or a date under the twinkling patio lights, surrounded by our hanging succulent garden. With good food at reasonable prices, and service that is always friendly, La Mediterranee Castro is proud to be a bright spot in our community

3 months agoThis place is pretty awesome. The food is so delish. Customer service is outstanding. They have inside and outside seating. If you end up sitting outdoors, they have fantastic heaters above you that def keep you warm while you eat and chat with friends/family. Very clean inside and out. Plenty of street parking.

8 months agoI wanted to try something different for lunch but I got 30 minutes only. Found this restaurant, checked Google reviews, most of them were positive, so I decided to try it out. I ordered Lunch Middle Eastern Plate with chicken, sandwiches and small plate of lamb meatballs. It was delicious. Portion was good. Exactly what I wanted for a quick lunch. Nice atmosphere, good service overall except for a little issue. Will come back again if I go to Pacific Heights.

a year agoI really enjoy the ambiance of this place and food had never disappointed me. First of the restaurant is on the Fillmore one of the most lively and walkable neighborhoods, which already adds couple of points to my rating (: They have small to mid size inside space and several tables outdoor. I adore their tables covered with colorful tiles and simple but stylish tableware. As for food - it is very good, and the portions are generous. If you like good quality mid eastern/Mediterranean food you definitely need to check this place.

a month agoWhat a vibe. This classic spot has been here since the 70s serving up top notch Mediterranean food with a focus on Armenian. The food is fresh, exciting, local and flavorful. Have classic Mediterranean food or try some less popular, under the radar Mediterranean dishes. Definitely worth giving it a try. The salmon kebab is SO GOOD.

in the last weekBest Mediterranean restaurant in Pac Heights. Tons of vegan options, blew my mind! Way better than Troya at lower prices. And service is always incredible. Highly recommend!
