A love for real estate sneaked up on Layla. She had no idea when she began more than four years ago as partner with her mother, Realtor Rima Tannous, how personal a business this is and how much she would grow to care about her clients. She grew up watching Rima closely and learned a great deal from Rima’s real estate experience and business acumen. While Layla embraces technology, she also cares passionately about the individualized touch. Every day is a new, revitalizing day for Layla and her clients, friends and loved ones. With her very approachable personality, Layla has excelled in the business through referrals and expert knowledge, which she is constantly sharing with others.

Layla has always been dedicated to helping others. Her prior career was as a health researcher at the American University Hospital of Beirut. She was the first among her colleagues to launch a health campaign that reached the entire country.

In addition to her native English, Layla speaks French and Arabic. She embraces international travel and enjoys sharing her multicultural background in and out of the workplace and loves exploring emerging neighborhoods in the DMV. Ask her for a restaurant recommendation or an edgy place to shop! You’ll find she is easy to talk to and fun, as well. Her clients love her, and the feeling is mutual.

You probably know at least one or two friends who have a real estate license. Layla knows she does. Notwithstanding that, selecting your agent is very personal and serious. Friends can be “candidate realtors” but there’s more to it than that. Don’t forget this is also a business relationship. It is intense – because buying and selling is intense. It is about trust and respect and privacy. It is about your wants and needs.

Curiously, Layla often knows more about her clients than their mothers know. Layla needs to know to help. You see, buying and selling are financial decisions but also very emotional decisions. How your home feels is terribly important. Layla loves to watch and listen to her clients’ reactions to homes we visit. Layla is good at separating the important stuff from the distractions and Layla loves doing it.

Working with Rima (The Tannous Team) they bring the best of both worlds. They are two generations with their own perspectives and tastes and ideas. They argue and disagree and come to similar conclusions from different starting points. Their clients are the beneficiaries of their differentness and their respect for each other. Along the way, the process is more fun than you might ever expect.
