I ordered a tres leches cake and it was horrible. 95% frosting, 5% cake and 0% liquid. Not a tres leches cake. Please don’t false advertise. Chocolate mousse cake the same.
German Chocolate Cake - 5 stars!
My birthday was a few week's ago and I was spending the day with my folks who came to visit from Canada. We wanted to find a nice cake for my birthday and I suggested we find a local place to support.
I found Le Gout on google maps and the photos looked nice so I thought it was worth a try. It turned out to be a wonderful place. The prices were really good for the quality. They have a large menu, including a full cafe menu.
I had been craving German chocolate cake and they had a nice sized cake ready to go. It was soft, sweet, and had a lot of buttercream in the layers which is something I am a big fan of. We got some vanilla ice cream to go with it and it was great.
While Le Gout may not be as flashy and popular as some of the social media darlings (I love those places too), they certainly hold their own when it comes to making a great birthday cake.
Old favorite classic Lebanese desserts, like helawat aj-jibn (sweet cheese), maamoul (not too sweet with rosewater, plenty of stuffing), zunud as-sit (fried sweet cheese pastry), qatayif...not sure if there were more options due to the eid, but highly recommend.
Sweet lady packaged my order!
I had a great experience here buying short ribs for my caldo de res, they have interesting European stuff as well. Coming back and they were all friendly people
Great Armenian bakery with a ton of variety and fresh cookies, cakes, and pastries. The savory items we got were delicious. And I loved the variety of cookies they had. The woman who helped us was extremely kind and patient in explaining a lot of the desserts to us and her recommendations were great! definitely worth the stop
