Came to Houston yesterday and it was a Friday and hence locals recommended Masjid ElFarouq for the Juma prayer. Beautiful mosque with wide area. Nice Dawa Khana, clean ablution area, area for Quran classes, halal food area, nice parking - overall very nice and soothing ambience.

And the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone. Surat Aljinn:18.
This is a wonderful place of worship. Probably my favorite in Houston area. Super clean and quiet. You feel in peace here. All the thanks and praise are for Allah, our Creator, He made it possible for some good brothers to establish this amazing worship place.
P.S. worship in Arabic means Abada/Yaโbudu: it means to obey completely, to fully submit to. When you obey/submit to and become a servant to the Creator only, you become free from any type of slavery in life. Whether itโs a slavery to other created beings like humans, or to materialistic things like money, power, titles, university degrees or anything else. It is to believe in oneness of Allah (the name for God in Arabic) as a Creator, Maker, Fashioner, Sustainer of the world. And as the only god worthy of worship. And in his attributes. This is called Tawheed (oneness of Allah).
This masjid was a place of peace for us. They used to allow mothers to pray in a separate room with their children. This Ramadan, they started a new un-Islamic policy where they separate children from their mothers. In a time where the ummah needs childrenโs participation more than ever, they are removing them from the masjid to be forcefully โbabysatโ in a separate building. May Allah reward everyone who donated and put time into establishing this community, however the admins are making the wrong decisions. Theyโre pushing away mothers and children. To anyone who isnโt a parent, these kids are our future ummah. These decisions will affect all of us. We should be very careful especially knowing the signs of the end. May Allah guide the administration.
