8 months agoIts Allah's home. There should be no discrimination between the women who come with kids and the ones who dont come with kids. Faced the worst kind of discrimination from a lady today telling me that its not allowed to have plastic bottles, understandable (she saw my daughter using a bottle). I apologized and told my daughter to put in her bag. And right infront of her another lady was using a plastic bottle but she was told nothing. Then telling me kids are not allowed in this area and its mosque policy. And then she said, "I means it." She kept on arguing with me so I could leave the main women's area and go to kids room. I left her alone. Keeping in mind, my daughter is 5 years old. I know her, she has been going to the mosques since she was a baby. And now she goes to an Islamic school, she knows how to behave. There were barely 3 kids in the kids room and 4 ladies and still she wanted us 4 ladies to pray separately. Like seriously this a congregation, please dont discourage ladies to come without kids or dont come at all. If the kids are not behaving theirselves its understandable but if the kid is calm and quiet what is the issue? Even the Prophet Muhammad SAW encouraged them to come. I would also add that my daughter was not even alone in the kids room, I have a friend watching over her. So I just don't understand the drama that lady is trying to create and HARRASING women with kids. 5 star because this is Allah's home. The kind of discrimination and harrasment I faced today is beyond words. I literally kept on crying throughout my prayers. Please dont do this especially when we are also trying to make the best of this Holy month. JazakAllah khair

11 months agoThe community of Masjid Uthman is one of the kindest community I have been blessed to know, from the first of them to the last of them - superbly representing sunnah of beloved Mohammed saws. Have great programs and activities. Love that they remember those who passed away! Support this community growing and donate what you can - its a sadaqa jarria that will outlive us all.
