We have Arab, Turkish, African, Pakistani ,India and Mexican goods ,,, as well as meat and chicken halal freshest , and we have restaurant Middle Eastern foods, as well as home appliances, perfumes, fresh bread and many more.
I love going to Mecca Market. They have fresh halal meat each Wednesday and Saturday. The lamb chops are so good. No matter how I prepare them they melt in my mouth. Grade A good. Produce fresh and not expensive. I cannot say enough. I encourage everyone to check this store out. The people are like family!
We have had the Mixed Grill and Mixed Platter from here and it always comes up good. We have had Beef Shawarma and Shish Kabab and it's good. Only downside is you would have to wait so long for your order.
This place has really gone downhill and is no longer a good spot for the Muslim community. The staff has completely forgotten how to treat customers. The butchers were beyond rudeโnot just to me but to others waiting in lineโand the young black dude at the register wasnโt any better.
Theyโve raised meat prices twice in the last six months, going from $5.99 to $6.49, and now $6.99. When I asked about the increase, the cashier (black dude) sarcastically told me to come back later when the price โgoes lowโ for me. I didnโt argue because I had my 5-year-old nephew with me, but it was really disrespectful.
It feels like the owner is just being greedy, constantly hiking prices. This used to be our go-to place for meat and groceries, but not anymore. A lot of people in the southside Muslim community feel the same way about how poorly this place is run now.
If youโre looking for halal meat and want to be treated well, go to Saraga or Al Basha instead. Donโt waste your time or money here.
Sometimes you go into a place and you never know what to expect. In the very back of the store is a little restaurant. The food was delicious and the people were nice. There was not beef available at the time. I can understand why that is. We opted for the Chicken Shawarma and the Mendi Chicken.
Both were excellent with good portion sizes. We walked out of there very very full and happy, and we remain so while at the airport now many hours later.
(This review is for the restaurant which is inside the market) Food is good but service is very subpar. If you're willing to put up with some confused conversation and extremely long wait times, definitely come visit.
This is Yemeni restaurant with lots of meat options and big platters to share. I recommend a Shawarma sandwich. The Mendi and Mixed Meat Platter was good too. The food seemed to have a bit too much salt in my opinion, but overall it was pretty good.
