The Middle East Institute has a small, intimate, well-curated art gallery (open M-F, 10 am to 5 pm, free admission). It’s refreshing to see art that is not well-represented in mainstream media.

Interesting discussions you can attend in person or view online, an art gallery open to the public, and the Oman Library located in an old carriage house across the courtyard. Definitely worth a visit.

My experience taking Arabic classes at the Middle East Institute was excellent! Zahraa is a thorough instructor with courses covering history and culture as well as language instruction. MEI’s Languages Program is a great resource for anyone looking for instruction Arabic, Farsi, Hebrew, or Turkish— I highly recommend studying Languages at MEI!

Sheri and Farshid are amazing instructors. I have learned so much in such a short period of time. Classes use a variety of source materials, topics and modes of communication to ensure that every aspect of the language and culture are covered. I look forward to each and every class!

Taking Arabic Intermediate group classes with Zahraa has been wonderful - classes run smoothly, the structure and curriculum are efficient, and I have felt significant improvement in my own vocabulary and conversation skills.
