Chef Mito’s family is from Urfa, known as the kebap capital of Türkiye.  He grew up making kebap and is naturally drawn to cooking. He traveled widely in his native Türkiye, learning about different regional cuisines, and worked with upscale restaurants in Istanbul and along the Mediterranean coast.  He was later formally trained in the culinary arts in a top program in the US, and then worked at high-end restaurants and country clubs.  He returned to his native cuisine and opened first a food truck (in Detroit), and later a bricks and mortar restaurant, Mito’s Döner, in Pomona, California, opened in May 2020.

Mito’s survived the pandemic and is now expanding it’s space and it’s menu.  You will find Chef Mito on the patio behind the grill, from where he would love to tell you more of his story.

This place is amazing, especially the service and the food. I've been to many Turkish, Mediterranean, and Central Asian restaurants all over the states, but the food here is the best so far. The service is top-notch; they are so friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be coming back here every time I am in Cali, and I recommend this place to everyone who wants to try authentic Turkish food!

I stopped by on my way to visit my friend in the hospital and let me just say, wow! The food is amazing, extremely fresh, and the people here are so loving. You can tell they genuinely love the food because of the taste. The owner was nice enough to give me a side of chili oil with my wrap, a mineral water from Turkey, and he gave me a pice of the walnut baklava they bake daily. Overall, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! The photos of the wrap aren’t the best, but trust that the flavor is there!

Great experience for take out! Personally thought the lamb tandir wrap was the best of what I ordered, but the other 3 (Donner kebap wrap, zaza- beef, zaza- lentils) were all good too. Friendly service, good simple atmosphere if you want to dine in.

Happily stumbled upon this yummy Turkish gem. The owner was so welcoming, hospitable, and super nice. He even offered the jacket off his back because we came in on a cold night. The food was so tasty and hit the spot. We got a zaza (Turkish pizza) and beef and lamb wrap. Favors were so good and very satisfying. Doesn’t feel heavy and the sauces paired well with the wraps. We also got to taste the yummy Turkish flavored mineral waters that were very refreshing. Glad we found this place. I highly recommend this place!

It is a nice kebab store, located across the street from Pomona Valley Hospital. I have visited this establishment once, in November of 2022. I came here on the advise of one friend, who was Turkish descent, and advised to try this place. Since, I am familiar with Turkish cuisine, I thought to try this one out. The meal, that I have ordered, was delicious and well-made. If I remember correctly, it was a chicken lavash. There was ample of space to sit down, and enjoy a meal. At the same time, the staff were helpful and attentive. Definitely, if anyone enjoys Turkish meals, I would recommend a visit to this small restaurant.
