2 months agoDriving through town, and I decided to stop here to pray dhuhr. I walk inside and apparently they were having an โopen mosqueโ day to teach the public about Islam. Cool, except that there was endless free mixing. I just wanted to pray in peace, but instead the prayer hall was surrounded with men and women, hanging out and chatting casually. It was extremely uncomfortable so I went to pray in my car in the parking lot instead. As Iโm walking out, I grab my shoes and thereโs more free mixing in the lobby. What kind of masjid is this? Having an โopen mosque eventโ isnโt an excuse to casually hang out with one another so freely and openly.
