a month agoThis is my new go to place for tailoring and alternations! I came in to alter the bottom length of a jumpsuit, and to my surprise the seamstress offered to fix the shoulder straps in a way that made it so much more comfortable and practical and it looked GREAT! This improved the wearability of the jumpsuit in so many ways AND - they had it ready the next day. Shukran so much for the excellent service! this needs to be your new spot for alterations too, YALLA!

4 months agoHigh quality work and good attention to detail. I had several dress shirts and slacks that needed various alterations. David and his team did a great job and texted me when my clothes were ready. I will come here again.

5 years agoI walked in today to get my dress hemmed. After greeting me with her lovely smile, Rachel had me try on my dress and shoes. Within minutes she told me that the length was fine and no alteration was needed. It would have been so easy to mislead me and make a sale but instead she told me that the dress was perfect. I left Sew Fit Tailoring without spending a dime - yet Rachel took her time to give me advice, instruction and even the name of a place that will steam my dress for me later at a very affordable price. Rachel is a young, talented and skilled seamstress. She knows what she's talking about. I won't ever go anywhere else for tailoring. On a side note - the shop has many dresses for sale at really affordable prices. Had I known this earlier, I would have looked there first for bridesmaid and mother-of-the bride dresses. Thank you Rachel!

5 years agoThe quality of the work CAN be good, however I felt like many shortcuts were taken in regard to my item. I had what I believed to be a simple job for experienced professionals: sew patches onto my jean jacket. I inquired about the possibility of placing patches over pockets without closing the pocket and they said they couldn't do that because they use machines. Got it, moved on. I had a few patches I wanted to place on the jacket as well as a cloth backpatch. The backpatch is well placed and stitched. Of the others, about half were done adequately while the other half was done...haphazardously, it seems. Two of the patches are place directly above the pockets of the jacket and yet they are both off-center, despite having specifically addressed this concern while they were being temporarily pinned into place. The response was "of course" they would center them and make sure they were straight -- well they didn't. The last patch, which is a polygon, is affixed with a complete lack of attention to detail. I will need to remove it because it looks awful. It seems they simply ran black thread over and around the border several times; it looks sloppy and it is very noticeable due to the fact that the patch is multi-colored (the border being silver and perhaps grey thread should have been used). The pricing was great - $10 for the backpatch and $5 per additional patch. I feel that their pricing is comparable to other shops. I wish I didn't have to remove half of patches. The jacket had many loose hanging threads that I wasn't sure I would be okay to cut because who knows what it would unravel. I will be correcting the errors and placing the rest of my patches with another shop. SewFit is local to me but I will travel for quality and care. The funny thing is when I first entered the shop they said I should learn how to do this simple task myself and suggested I look into their sewing class. It should come as no surprise that I won't be doing that. Edit (in response): When picking up the jacket I was asked if I would like to try it on, to which I responded no - I was in the middle of running errands and from a quick glance everything seemed fine. I haven't had problems with shops placing patches before so I didn't think I would need to look any harder. I won't be returning. I have attempted to attach photos of the work.
