Ordered 2 of the exact same meal, requesting one Chicken Skewer and one Kabab Skewer. I was charged for 2 Mashawi (BBQ) @ $31.98 Then added charges were $8 for 1 Kabab Skewer, $17.98 for extra Chicken Skewer, and $1 for Garlic Sauce. I thought he may have misunderstood my order, and done the 3 Skewer plate, but that wasnโt the case when I got home and opened the container. For these two meals I was charged a whopping sum of $65.00!!!
The salad was soggy and minimal, and the chicken was burnt. All in all, I was WAY over charged, and the meal and proportions were ludicrous. I do not recommend this restaurant.
๐ช๐ฌ EGYPT (via Eat the World Los Angeles) - The menu reads as if you were out with friends stopping at all your favorite restaurant stalls, so bring at least a couple others so you can have a table full of as many treasures as can fit. Sphinx is a great place to try a special Egyptian oddity known as koshari ($13.99), which the restaurant calls the national dish.
One of my favorite food spots to run across! Im Egyptian and this is one of the rare full Egyptian restaurants! Food is authentic and tasty! Highly recommend for Egyptians and everyone who wants to try authentic food dishes! Definitely MUST TRY!!!!
A lovely no frills restaurant. The meal was delicious! We had the Shawarma Plate and wrap. The service is friendly and they are proud to share their Egyptian culture. You must try their Baklava - you won't be disappointed!
I came in with my friend. I was in the mood to something new I've never had Egyptian before. The chef was so helpful she gave me most excellent recommendations the lamb melted off the bone and chef even suggested to put the molokhia on the rice which was the best suggestion the rice was delicious blend of grains and the molokhia brought the flavor out. The entire dining experience from the greeting to the food was sublime. Furthermore the falafel was divine. Perfectly blended flavors and fluffy on the inside crunchy on the outside. It was in a word, heavenly.
