History

Established in 1978.

Sometimes you get a little homesick when you move to a new place. Sometimes you get REALLY homesick. Back in the 70s, few in New Mexico knew what soy or fish sauce were. Cassava and sofrito? Ha! So to make things easier, we just had to find all the foods of home. The immigrant waves of the 70s and 80s brought people from Asia and Latin America. Turns out that there were many similarities in the ingredients. It was just how the dishes were prepared that made all the difference. We've been on a mission to find all the foods of home, wherever home is. Authenticity is one of our goals. Almost all of our products are imported, with the brands that people abroad know and trust. Others are regional US favorites. Grocery shopping should be fun, not something that you do in a sterile, white wall and ceiling mega-store. We're just like the town square back home, only here.
