Tamer (“Tom”) M. Abdou is the founding and Managing Member of Abdou Law Offices, LLC. Mr. Abdou has vast experience with respect to both litigation and transactional matters. Specifically, Mr. Abdou started his career working on complex, civil litigation matters, and as a result of this experience, it has afforded him the ability to approach the firm’s transactional practice with a distinct level of diligence and skill. Notably, Mr. Abdou’s past experience working at both small and large firms, both in New Jersey and New York, also serves to help him best cater to the needs of the firm’s diverse clientele.
Mr. Abdou currently engages in a wide range of civil litigation matters. Mr. Abdou has long represented his clients in complex litigation matters such as construction litigation, insurance coverage litigation, real estate litigation, consumer protection, contractor/subcontractor claims, sales distribution disputes, and business dissolution/partition actions. He also represents his clients in various types of negligence matters such as automobile negligence, slip & fall, and products liability. Mr. Abdou is additionally engaged in a robust workers’ compensation practice that prosecutes workers’ injury claims in an efficient and expedient manner. Mr. Abdou is one of the few attorneys engaged in the practice of diminished vehicle value property damage claims. Ultimately, Mr. Abdou insists on prosecuting all cases with the same diligence as the most complex and intellectually robust matters.
With respect to the firm’s transactional practice, Mr. Abdou is engaged in general counsel work for various small to mid-size companies and professional associations wherein he engages in all aspects of business and transactional law ranging from business formation, preparation of corporate documents, and negotiating contracts and leases. Mr. Abdou also frequently engages in consulting his clients on risk management and employment matters. Mr. Abdou has extended his transactional practice to include representing clients with respect to the sale and purchase of various types of business entities.
Finally, Mr. Abdou has established a robust commercial and residential real estate practice that allows him to diligently represent clients in various matters ranging from the simple condominium to a high value, diverse commercial property. Mr. Abdou believes in personally being engaged in real estate practice, and making sure that the firm’s clients and their realtors are fully aware of what is happening with respect to the transaction. He fully understand that real estate practice is best when it is carefully orchestrated, and when the clients’ interest is paramount for a smooth transaction with all expectations met.
Mr. Abdou received a Bachelor of Arts degree, dual major in History and Political Science from the University of Delaware, and he received his Juris Doctor from Temple University, Beasley School of Law.
Mr. Abdou is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court, District of New Jersey and the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Mr. Abdou is fluent in conversational Arabic.
