Great service and food, went after dinner for a snack and cocktails it was fairly empty, place is beautiful and clean. Loved the whiskey options. The food I had was delicious, I'm local and always in the area I'll be back

Monrovia, CA
The Diplomat as I was craving for Mediterranean food. But ToGo for 10 adults. Called them and X2O Cafe also in Monrovia; however, I have to say that I was so much more impressed with The Diplomat because the person who took my initial call and Manager, Joey were so nice and helpful. They were very patient and accommodating making suggestions. Joey even mentioned that we didn't need to over order and scale it back, which surprised me as most business wouldn't do that as the more you order the more they make. This alone convinced me enough to go with them. Plus the reviews were really good, which of course helped to seal the deal. Here's what we ordered: 8 beef kebobs, 8 chicken kebobs, Rice pilaf enough for 10, 2 humus. Joey gave us extras (meat, veggies, humus, pita) which we weren't even expecting. He knows how to run a business that will have customers coming back for more. I highly recommend you to try this place.

2 weeks agoSuch a delicious and wonderful atmosphere. The highlight of it all was the owner coming to chat with us about our meal and making friendly small talk. We ordered the beef Shawarma, chicken kebab, and falafel. Everything is always delicious, and I can't wait to slowly make my way through the menu. To our surprise, we were given complementary baklava at the end of our meal. Overall, we've had only great experiences 10/10

4 months agoWe were looking for a Mediterranean option and this place was great. I personally love haloumi cheese and they made it perfectly. Very crispy! We really enjoyed the babaganoush and the falafel. The only thing that was not that great was the pita bread. Felt that this could be better, but the other food made up for it. We would also recommend sitting inside if possible. It was a very popular place and people were lining up outside waiting for a seat. So it was a little awkward having people standing around us while we ate.

4 months agoBeen a monrovia staple for years and I'm so happy they're going strong! They have a great happy hour and sun-thurs that go all night (example: whiskey Wednesday, tequila Tuesday where whiskey and tequila drinks are discounted all night). Fav food item is their chicken or filet mignon kabob plate sub rice spinach. Consistent and steady, love them!

10 months agoWe had a wonderful lunch here, we sat outside and it was very comfortable. We had two appetizers , Brussel sprouts and fried cauliflower, and both were very good. I had a chicken kabob and the meat was jucey and delicious. The cocktail was nice and had real rose pedals in it. There is a great selection of beer and cocktails.

6 months agoNice place for lunch. We have the specialized platter. It was a pretty basic platter, and sufficient enough for three people to share. Prices are reasonable for the food. Service was also good, laid back atmosphere. Itโs a great place to catch up with loved ones.
