Nestled between Avondale suburbs and the Gateway Pavilions shopping center sits the West Valley’s only mosque and Islamic community center.
The idea for the West Valley Islamic Center grew out of the need for a place of worship for the several thousand Muslims in the area.
Over time, the center has grown to a congregation of hundreds of Muslims and their families.
WVIC holds daily salat (prayers), Jumua service, Sunday School, and other activities.

8 months agoHello, I'm very interested in converting to Islam. I have no idea how to go about it, if I'm allowed to just walk to the mosque or how anything works. If someone could respond it seems like such a lovely place to be and I just don't want to be disrespectful in any way โค๏ธ๐ป

a year agoThey pray two times for Juma therefore you can pray for the second if you are late for the first one. They are very welcoming to this beautiful mosque. Imam is very kind and very knowledgeable about religion. He has a calming voice and I enjoyed listening to him before the Juma prayer.

a year agoGood place for Salah but not so active during the day. Community is mostly of doctors in the area. In general, a beautiful place for salah if you are in the vicinity but if you are looking for a very active masjid then this will not be the one I will pick. I do like the alone time and solace when I go for Dhuhr because I work close by.
