5 months agoSo I have been going to Zankou Chicken for a while, and I was told that the family actually split up so some were different. I found out how different the locations are. There are two divisions of the Zankou Chicken business. I have been to locations from both, and I have learned that the biggest difference is not in which division, but in the location. Here at the Montebello location, they did not have the cucumber salad and they do not automatically give you the garlic sauce, and to choose sides is a hassle. So far the chicken at this location is SUPER SALTY, and not as tender, and felt kinda grainy. The rice feels over cooked and the tabula salad is terrible. The texture almost felt like I would have mouthfuls of straight cilantro with not enough lime juice. Iโm astonished at how different this location was from the Sunset location or the Long Beach location which are both from different divisions, but are arguably just as good. The vibe feels different and they seemed more rude here. The Long Beach location there are much nicer than this one. There were only two people working and they seemed annoyed with me. Themployees working, good food, great atmosphere, and they seem happier. I didnโt want to say anything because I honestly felt like they either wouldnโt care or wouldnโt want to feel awkward about speaking up. I drove pretty far to this location and now I feel like I should have driven somewhere else. Out of everything though, this locationโs garlic sauce is still fire, and they provide warm pita bread which I really liked. It was in a bag, with condensation in it proving how freshly warmed it was. My mom really liked it. They say that โcomparisonโ is the thief of joy.โ This might be the case. I might be wrong and just be annoyed because I wasnโt acknowledged right away when I came in. I donโt know. But if you do eat here and youโre not a fan, give the other aforementioned locations a try.

7 months agoA solid representation of Zankou Chicken which is one of my favorite rotisserie chicken restaurants. I just ordered a half chicken rotisserie plate with salad and hummus. It was delicious and cooked perfectly, just like all the other Zankou spots Iโve been to. Id definitely come back to this spot again to try their other menu items.

2 weeks agoLove, love this chicken. Tender juicy and lightly broiled. The garlic spread is exceptionally delicious! The family order is great in price quality and quantity. Very affordable for what you get. The whole chicken is cut for you and just ready to eat with the 3 large yummie sides. Rice, hummus, and pita. The service is great. Very friendly staff and very efficient too. Thank you! See you soon! Great order for holiday parties.

a month agoOne of my favorite Mediterranean spots! The food takes a while to cook, but thatโs because itโs grilled to perfection. The rice is always fluffy and hot and the garden salad is my absolute go-to. I love the tartness abs crunchiness of the radishes. Definitely check them out if youโre in the area.

7 months agoMediterranean food style eatery with influences of Middle Eastern elements has a menu that is savory in all of its contents. Of course I have tried all of the menu. Note to all: The Arabic bread's flavor comes out best grilled which I do at home like a tortilla- on the burner. Ask them to do it- maybe they will. For this meal I ordered without the bread, just 8oz of chicken tarna hand sliced spit-roasted (vertical grilled stacked meat), 4oz. of hummus with oil and paprika, and the well balanced garden salad with the right amount of dressing included on top are turnips/beets and yellow peppers. (see the photo) They added diced cucumbers to it- yay! The chicken tarna's herbs and spices combo was heaven for the taste buds. The salad and the dressing that made its way to the bottom was perfect to dip the meat in as is their garlic spread. It is best to try the spit-fired meats morning to early afternoon when the juices are flowing!
