Palestinian cuisine seems to be having a moment in the United States, with significant and forward-looking chefs like Reem Assil, Lamees Dahbour and Mona Leena Michael leading the way here; elsewhere, Sameh Wadi and Amanny Ahmad are holding it down in Minneapolis-St. Paul and New York City, respectively. The past two years also saw the release of several books on the subject: Yasmin Khan’s Zaitoun, Joudie Kalla’s Baladi and Reem Kassis The Palestinian Table.
This class of chefs is exciting, grappling with the politically complicated task of carving out space for their cuisine in a time when even mentioning Palestine as a homeland or country of origin is fraught ยand rarely even permitted by the style guides of mainstream media.

3 weeks agoGood dinner! Authentic Palestinian cuisine. As a Palestinian myself I enjoyed. The chicken tawook plate good and a very generous portion. Lamb shank was solid as well. Fig & cream dessert was unique and good. Docked a star because I was over charged and didn't realize it until after I left. It was only about $10 but still, wasn't too happy about that.

2 months agoBest mediterranean food!! The food, appetizers, main dishes and dessert are fantastic and very delicious. There were seven of us for dinner on Saturday night, we had a reservation and we truly enjoyed the delicious foods. Their steak was so good, I forgot to take a photo.

a month agoOne of the best middle eastern restaurants in SF! The atmosphere is good, food is top notch and the service is brilliant! Must try includes the chicken shish tawook plate of course and also any of their hummus. Will definitely return!

5 months agoDelicious food in the cutest (but small) spot. The flavors really hit and everything was very fresh. Chicken Shish plate is the one to get!!!! It's well seasoned and tender. loved the side of pickles rice and humus that it comes with. Also got the Beef Kabob plate, which was good but a little dry. Flavors were there and also a very large portion of food. Very authentic and cozy spot. I would recommend for a post work bite or date ;)

3 months agoCame here and there was a wait for inside but a table on the parklet. The mezze sampler was delicious and beautiful. The delicate squash was cooked well and sweet. The lamb shank meat fell off easily. The beef kabob was moist. Palestinian couscous was good. Rice was cooked well. Enjoyed the Lebanese wine. Black tea was sweetened. I definitely recommend the additional bread.
