I can't say enough about this hospital. Every time I have come to a provider, and their staff they treat me with dignity and compassion. I had the best experience with a nurse called Melissa in the infusion center at Newport Beach today, after coming for a test and not having the accurate preparation information, she took upon herself to call my Doctor herself and get me all the necessary required preparation. Such a great patient experience. We are so fortunate to have such a caring medical staffing, who truly treat a patient like a human being at Hoag!

This was hands down the best hospital experience I have ever had. I was in severe pain and throwing up and they took me immediately. The staff was kind, thoughtful, and attentive. My nurse came in very frequently to check on me and I felt actually cared for. Outside of this, the hospital is SO clean.. I wish I actually lived in Newport so this could be my go to hospital. LOVE HOAG. Best staff, best service, best everything. Thank you to everyone at this hospital that makes this experience phenomenal.

My girlfriend went in with severe left abdominal pain. They misdiagnosed her with kidney stones which she did have on her right side. However her ulcers which we found out she did have after getting back to Florida which was the cause of her pain which was on her left side and not the right side. So after taking apple cider vinegar and citrus because we were told it was her kidney stones causing the pain we found out we were making her pain and ulcers worse because we followed the advice of this hospital. How pain on her left side equaled kidney stones on the right side is beyond me and to think the doctor went to school for 8 yrs is also beyond me. 5 hrs for a misdiagnosed problem and I'm just glad we're not in California anymore and I'd advise anyone to think twice before going to Hoag. You made her health worse not better thanks alot. Just for reference she complained of upper left sided abdominal pain exactly located where the stomach is. Kidney stones on her right side which had not left her kidneys into the ureter yet which logically should of told you that wasn't the problem. Right side, left side pain logically doesn't make any sense. So we were told drink lots of citrus, problem is citrus is horrible for what was truly causing her pain( ulcers) They looked for the easiest solution and problem even when logically it didn't make any sense. Common sense alone would of told even a relatively intelligent person something didn't add up. If you would ask your average person if a kidney stone on your right hand side would cause severe pain located exactly where your stomach is( your left upper abdomen) exactly where she said the pain was coming from. You'd logically think they might want to know what is going on in her stomach? Common sense clearly isn't that common. Sure the hospital is clean and nice but most people go for cures not scenery. I'd rather be healed or given adequate treatment than worked on by doctors who lack common sense!!!!!!!!!!!

I delivered my daughter here. Iโ€™m a first time mom and had an amazing experience. The labor and delivery nurses (day and night) were so supportive, and really love their jobs. They also provide you with a free phone number called the โ€œbaby lineโ€ and can answer any questions you have about having a newborn, breastfeeding etc. Karen who seems to answer the line a lot is so knowledgeable! She is kind and has amazing advice. Not to mention the ocean view from the labor and delivery unit!

Ended up at Hoag ER with my dad 2 months ago, and can't thank the nurses,dr and staff who were so kind and professional during a really scary time. That same kindness and good care followed him on the ICU and medical floors. We were kept informed and updated, and highly recommend the Dr's and nurses who helped my dad through this tough time!
