Internal Medicine
I believe that the greatest satisfaction is when you are able to help others by not only making their life happier, but healthier. Practicing medicine gives me this satisfaction.
After completing medical school in Baghdad, I moved to the United States. I lived in Houston, Texas for 6 years, and then relocated to Detroit, Michigan for another 6 years, where I finished my Internal Medicine Residency at Wayne State University at the Detroit Medical Center.
During my journey to become a doctor, I gained experience through working a variety of jobs. These include being a cashier, pharmacy technician, medical and legal interpreter, medical advisor, and working on quality improvement projects. Another accomplishment of mine is the research that I have completed, and included in 3 different publications.
I now live in Redding, CA, where I enjoy the outdoors, friends, sports, and food with the company of my best friend: my dog. I work so hard, so that my dog can have a better life. I look forward to serving this community in this beautiful area!

6 months agoHe is very arrogant and he acts like he does not understand English. He does not want to listen to his patients. He makes notes about you and does not explain a single thing he sends unwarranted medical tests and he yells at you like your not human.

a year agoDr. Kanbar doesn't care. Not about you, or your health, or its impact on your life. He will string you along appointment to appointment with no change in treatment even if the treatment isn't working. If you say you want to try something else, he will berate you. "You're not the doctor, I am," is a choice quote. You aren't a person to him, you are a problem in a medical textbook. And a year later he'll still be staring at the problem doing nothing while your life falls apart. I know it's hard to find a doctor, but Kanbar isn't worth it. For any serious condition, do yourself a favor and find a doctor that will take it seriously.

a year agoDoesn't listen to his patients and doesn't believe them either and careful what you tell him cause he will misinterpret and then conclude his own words when bashing you in his notes!
