Dr. Baraka has been taking care of my Type 2 Diabetes since 2014. I have moved most of my doctors to Johns Hopkins Hospital except for 2 and they are Dr. Shadi Barakat and Dr. Matthew Voss. I will never change those two doctors even though they are not part of Johns Hopkins. Both are top in their fields. I appreciate them both.

Although it was a 36 minutes wait to see the doctor, it was well worth it. I fully understand what is possible wrong with me. He is sending me for a test that will give us both more answers. I am looking forward to my next appointment.

Dr.Barakat is a great MD. The hospital should recognize that they have a very special doctor in Shadi Barakat. Dr. Barakat is patient, listens to his patients and very able to find and treat the root problem that his patients have. His people want to come to see him because he gives you hope that he's going to help you with your medical issues. Bright individual! There should be more doctors like Dr. Barakat!

Great exam, Dr Barakat even examined my feet, the first time by my endocrinologist! The only suggestion is, please listen to your patients complaints. My diabetes was diet controlled. He recommended metformin due to my increased A1C. I told Dr B that metformin caused me to have diarrhea. I used Januvia. He prescribed metformin anyway! My pcp, Dr Ceasar prescribed me Januvia after weeks of discomfort with metformin. Please listen to your patients about adverse reactions to medications.
