8 months agoWhat a joke and a waste of time and money. I was told he doesn't believe I have pancreatitis after having been hospitalized over a handful of times in the last 7 years and all ER visits leading to being told I've got pancreatitis and am having a flare up. I was told he doesn't believe the diagnosis of an ER doctoe. High triglycerides, lipase elevated, pain in the abdomen radiating from the front into the mid back. Always following poor diet decisions, i.e. fatty foods. Recommends an ultrasound (won't see pancreatitis on an ultrasound) and recommended an endoscopy. Wouldn't give me a prescription for Creon (what I've taken the last 7 years to manage a semi-normal diet), so now I have to figure out how to include fatty foods in my diet without the medicine that's seemingly made it possible for the last several years. Unbelievable. Ask to see a different GI if this is who you're referred to. He also said he doesn't specialize in pancreas and that my PCP should have referred me to pancreas specialist . 2 hours and another 75 bucks down the drain just to be told I'd basically been living a lie the last 7 yrs. Still looking for help with understanding how to navigate life with pancreatitis.
