I’m truly amazed and grateful for my labor and delivery experience from start to finish. I had phenomenal nurses my entire stay. Erin and Patricia took care of me my entire labor process they made sure I was comfortable and treated me with so much patience, kindness and respect. Going through labor is such a scary experience but they made me feel comfortable and did everything to make sure I was okay the entire time. I couldn’t be more thankful. After my C-section I stayed two nights and I was lucky to have Maddy both nights as my nurse and she AMAZED me and my husband she was so kind and helpful the entire time. She educated us and explained every step of the way. Maddy took such good care of not only me and baby but also made my husband feel so comfortable. Maddy was constantly checking on me making sure I was not in pain and was so gentle with baby. This is my second pregnancy and By far the BEST experience ever. I’m so grateful for the entire KMC staff from doctors, nurses, home keeping and food service ladies. I couldn’t ask for more! Thank you for this wonderful service and thank you to all the nurses who helped me when I was in pain. KMC is definitely filled with amazing staff and quick acting doctors.

I was brought into the trauma ward following a bad car wreck. The staff patched me up and got me into surgery to fix my mangled hand within nine hours of arrival. No one bothered to clean all the blood off of me, but I honestly cannot complain about any of the nursing staff or doctors, who were compassionate, patient and very kind. Especially nurse Tim, who is arguably this hospital's greatest redeeming quality. The hospital administration, however, are an absolute nightmare. If you want to get ahold of anyone on the premises, it pays to show up in person. Phone calls go unanswered, are sent to the voicemail for a completely different department or shunted off to a purgatory of "please hold while we transfer your call". Need your medical records, have billing questions or want a doctor's note clearing you to work? Kern Medical laughs at your pitiful attempts at contacting someone who cares. As an avid urban explorer, I eagerly await the day that this crumbling facility and it's decades-old equipment finally die and I can gain a measure of catharsis stalking the halls of this decrepit institution which, like the American healthcare system, is rotten to it's core yet lacks the good sense to realize that it died decades ago. If you aren't too out of sorts to keep the ambulance crew from hauling you into this foetid carcass of a hospital, see if they'll take you to the Dignity Health facility down the street.

Nurses at this hospital are the worst people i have ever met! Don't bring you loved ones here. Didn't give pain meds to patients who need it in a timely manner. so the patient was told 15 mins, nurse came 45 mins later. When patient mention why did you lie, she said it doesn't matter I'm here now with her hand on her hip.. To kid who in a car accident with 2 semis this is just in a few hours hours of me being here,

Just had my daughter here, worst experience at a hospital. Malfunctions with equipment. For being a hospital that supposedly has the best Labor/Delivery department it sure needs more work. The rooms are very small and we had to be moved room’s multiple times.Had to ask nurses multiple times for the same request or assistance Lots of outdated room supplies. I’d highly suggest if your loved ones go into labor you go elsewhere .

My brother was shot and Kern medical center was the team chosen by paramedics to save his life. Upon arrival, the staff were very prompt to inform another family (who's relative was also shot during the same altercation) of the status of their victims current condition. Everytime I requested information regarding my brother's condition I was hushed by security to go seek my inquiry with the ICU but upon arriving at ICU their department would hush me to inquire with the emergency room staff. This particular establishment of trained personal are the most unpleasant, unforgettable, downright soulless group of individuals who claim to be a team. The security officer (young lady, pixie hair cut tattoo on her neck just behind the ear) told me as I cried for the fact that i was terrified for my brother's life, she said "why don't you just quit crying your brothers alive hes at the hospital, quit crying already hes fine" little did that smart mouthed unprofessional security officer know, but my brother wasn't alive. He died on the operating table. Thanks a lot for not being compassionate enough to allow me to even go and see his body after he passed away. My brother's body was in such bad shape after the hospital handled him, his skin was green and black and he wasn't even recognizable. The staff at the funeral home told me to take legal action for the condition his body was in. I would never come to this hospital for any reason you couldn't pay me.
