10 months agoMom to doctor: โDoctor, why am I so tired all the time? Doctor to mom: โitโs the diabetes, honey!โ Whenever my mom complained about her fatigue, โitโs the diabetes, honey!โ was all she would say to my mom. As if adding the word "honey" to the end of the sentence made it any better. This doctor was my mom's doctor a few years ago and finally my mom gave up and went to see another doctor. The new doctor promptly did a simple blood test and it turned out that my mom was severely anemic and needed special injections, I think it was called Procrit--that saved her life. My mom sometimes would complain about this doctor's bedside manner, she would always try to make my mom feel badly because she was on Medicare. My mom told me that on one of her doctor's visits this doctor told her that her tax paying dollars were paying for my mom's medical care. She also had birds in her office, which my mom thought was weird.

a year agoToday I took my senile father to see Dr. Rita Glor for the first time, and the experience was terribleโฆ To start, the waiting room was old with dirty chairs. It looked more like my grandmas house than a waiting room. The atmosphere was odd, like I was in the twilight zone. She had me waiting with my dad for over and hour and half! I was frustrated but I kept my cool. The only hope in that profit driven doctors office was Jacqueline, the nurse who took his vitals. The weight of the world has yet to crush her dreams, but Iโm sure working there would do the trick in no time. Anyways, I finally see the Doctor after the dreadful wait and ask her why it took so long. She responds in a snarky tone, saying that if I donโt like it I can get my copay refunded and leave. I was flabbergasted, absolutely stunned. I knew then that she is out for the money, not the well being of the people. This place is a joke with their outdated technology that looked straight out of the 40s. It was so bad I wouldnโt have thought twice if my nurse walked in with a plague doctor suit. Iโm not kidding, I feared they were going to give my dad a lobotomy or shock therapy.
