Someone said in another review that the billing was a scam. My experience with them was bad if not worse. The worst company I've had to deal with.
I think the governmental agency that oversees this kind of business should take a close look at them.
I certainly would never use their service again and would never recommend them.
they don't give you any reasonable way to pay them and would try to farm you out to a collection agency. Something fishy.
Negative or NO stars if able to express my true sentiment.
This is a follow-up to Bay Imaging Consultants Medical Group, Inc.'s (BIC) reply to my original review, which was sent on the morning of July 24, 2024.
It's important to reiterate that my original request was simple and straightforward. I DID NOT ask for a referral. I wrote that I would be willing to do the additional due diligence required to obtain a referral elsewhere (most likely my father's primary care physician, but I could/would explore all available options in obtaining a referral). I simply asked for a list of doctors BIC works with more frequently than not. That was my ONLY request.
All I get in return from BIC are excuses. BIC is not customer service-orientated and has a long-established pattern of very poor customer service and serious billing issues.
BIC is a vertically integrated company that must separate or identify itself under separate or even d/b/a firms to avoid exposing its inadequacies and service failures, across numerous specialties.
Clearly, BIC interpreted my request incorrectly. BIC did not comprehend the plain English written. BIC needs to brush up on vocabulary and the meaning of words typed, not jump to conclusions.
Do not expect ANY Bay Imaging Consultants Medical Group, Inc. (BIC) team member (receptionists/telephone operators - Ashley or Sierra - or neuroradiological specialists - Dr. Courtnay Bloomer, MD) to provide ONE OUNCE of PERSONALIZED service or "extra effort." Even though BIC is in a service industry, it is clearly NOT customer service driven. This is probably an obvious statement based on all the horrid reviews related to billing issues.
BICs specialists are experienced at being "holed up in their offices or homes analyzing scans." BIC specialists DO NOT take time to develop ANY TYPE OF PROFESSIONAL NETWORK. BIC team members are unwilling and simply too lazy to identify which primary care providers or specialists (in my case, neurologists) they work with (or who they see or recognize) more often when imaging "orders" are made or sent to them.
I am struggling to find a quality primary care provider and neurologist, in diagnosing and treating my father's Alzheimer's related issues. Dr. Bloomer was responsible for "reading" and making 3 very basic "impressions" regarding my father's MRI brain scan without contrast. It made logical sense to me to reach out to BIC (and specifically, Dr. Bloomer), for a list of doctors and specialists whom she works with more frequently, but she was unwilling to put in a tiny bit of extra effort and provide me this requested list.
Dr. Bloomer does not live in the SF Bay Area anymore and is completely remote. She said she can not provide a list of doctors and specialists she "reads scans for," because she is not local. Locality is simply not a relevant factor in my request for her assistance (I am willing to drive all over the SF Bay Area, Monterey or Sacramento for quality care). All Dr. Bloomer needed to do was provide a list of names she sees more frequently within a VERY LARGE GEOGRAPHIC AREA.
I am more than willing to do the next step of research required in checking health insurance compatibly, reviewing credentials and experience, and initiating the "normal" referral process. Dr. Bloomer's efforts were to provide me with a starting point that was more informed than a simple google search or a scan of the Blue Cross/Shield or John Muir Health doctors' directories (both directories are very thin when looking for these types of specialties).
While the receptionists/telephone operators (Ashley and Sierra) showed excellent patience in listing to my detailed request of Dr. Bloomer, they "protected" Dr. Bloomer at every turn during my explanation and plea for help. It took two calls, 3/4 days apart, to get any type of response. Sierra, specifically, only offered excuses to me, but then claimed I was harassing her. She claimed she was a hard worker, but again, ONLY OFFERED EXCUSES.
BIC team members DO NOT understand what it means to provide COMMON CUSTOMER SERVICE.
How BIC can continue to win/have contracts with all the major San Francisco Bay Area Hospital Groups is beyond me.
If you have the unfortunate opportunity to have to deal with BIC, please consider yourself forewarned.
Bay Imaging didn't sent a paper bill. Was sent to collections.
Also, I didn't choose to use these guy (clinic defaulted to them). Lastly, they bill separately from the clinic... So you may think you paid off your medical bill but Bay Imaging sneakingly bills you separately without sending an actual bill. If you can somehow avoid them, please save yourself the headache and time.
Edit: Bay Imaging replied stating patients receive bills from hospital or them. However, I must reiterate I didn't receive a bill from them (neither electronically nor via paper) nor did I receive one from the hospital. Only notice was from the collection agency. Hence the review.
They sent a bill to collections in less than 8 weeks. Called them and they said the bill is with another department but still within Bay Imaging. When I was transferred it was a collector. In CA a company is supposed to wait 180 days at least before send a medical bill to collections. Seems like some questionable practices.
