A family-owned and operated restaurant, Dyar Mediterranean Cuisine serving delicious authentic flavors from the Mediterranean Coast to the Middle East. Everything we serve is fresh and homemade, and served to you in a beautiful atmosphere with fresh produce. We have two locations on South_side (since 2009) and North_side (since 2012) near UC Berkeley Campus. Our falafels melt in your mouth, and it is amazing. The pita bread is soft and lightly grilled, and the plates come with hummus, salad and rice. Our Chicken Shawarma plate tastes great! All our Plates comes with a scoop of seasoned rice, Kabab or chicken shawarma, small salad, 4 pita bread triangles, and hummus spread. Our mezze plates (hummus, tabouli, babaghanous, falafel, dolmas) is one of the best in the bay area

3 weeks agoDelicious food, but they kicked me out an hour before closing. First off, the food itself is great! I got the Beef Kebab Plate and the beef was juicy and flavorful. Everything was good and plenty for one person. About $15 which is average for the area. But what was disappointing was that they kicked me out of the restaurant an hour before they close because they wanted to close early. I had only been sitting for about 15 minutes when they told me they would be closing in 2 minutes at 8:55pm because it was slow. I had to pack up the little food I had left, and it was cold by the time I got home. It felt rude and awkward. I have mixed feelings now. The food was really good, but being rushed out like that left a bad taste in my mouth.

a year agoIโve been a frequent customer since freshman year and I am graduating in a week! Its been a great time. Great food, service and place. They are fast and taste/ingredients have always been consistent. Thank you for feeding me on my hangriest days!! Also one of the chefs knows that I like to put lime juice on my beef and lamb gyro plate and he remembered today.

2 months agoThe food is decent, but the service is quite rough. They have a โplatesโ menu that comes with a choice of either fries or salad, but when I tried to order one of the options they said it only comes with salad. Thatโs not what their menu states and they refused to honor the order. Other times, Iโve tried ordering at the counter because the people before me had done so, and they refused to take my order instead pointing to the dirty self-service kiosk. Sometimes, they just seem rude to everyone for no apparent reason. The anomaly is when a Mexican man is working, he is very friendly and provides great customer service. If youโre into paying ok the higher-end of prices to be disrespected, youโll love it here.

4 months agoYou know where you are. The place serves college kids. It is cheap and fast food but it is good, fresh, hot food. It's a tiny establishment. Seating for about 10 people. I really like their shawarma. The felafels are a bit small.
