Khyber Pass Zarparan Restaurant

I have been wanting to go here for years and finally had a chance to go with my wife for a Friday lunch. Parking can be a little tough, but there is free street parking and pay lots nearby. The restaurant atmosphere is super cool inside and the wait staff was incredibly friendly. The food was delicious. We got an appetizer platter and loved it. We ate the entire appetizer platter, including extra Pita bread, and almost ruined our appetites before our entrées arrived. The main meals were delicious. I also got the vegetarian platter with 4 different items and different rices. I will definitely go again (next time not on a Friday during Lent so that I can try some of the entrées with meat options). I will also recommend to friends and others.

My family and I enjoyed the Badenjan(eggplant dish) and beef combo plate! The flavors were so delicious. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. We make an effort to come here when we are in San Diego to enjoy the yummy food!

Went here on a Thursday night and really enjoyed myself. The food was absolutely delicious and fresh tasting. The service was quick and hospitable. I will definitely come back. I have the rice with a cherry sauce. It was so so good.

The food is soooo good and portion was decent! Try everything and the owner has had this restaurant for 40 years ok hillcrest!!

Best Afghan-Persian/Iranian food I had in San Diego! The staff (Mr. Cyrus) were such stars. The chefs too because the chicken & beef kabobs melted in my mouth and the Qabuli Polo with lamb was just so tasty and rich. The atmosphere takes you places and the doogh (carbonated yoghurt drink) was cool and fresh. Definitely a must-go in Dan Diego. The service is great too because we were a table of 15 people and everyone got their orders on time, hot and correctly associated.
