Bcuz of my last amazing experience I went again and took a friend with me. Ordered the same Kabuli pulao and lamb seekh tikka. This time the. Chef was off.
We had food poisoning. Most likely we were served few days old pulao or the lamb.
Customer service has improved.
Best place in California for authentic Afghani taste. Kabuli pulow, all of the lamb n beef bbq tikka and kababs. I've tried almost every Afghani restaurant in Norcal but no one has the authentic tastem. But this one for sure!!
Kabuli pulao tastes authentic but it wasnt fresh made. Pulow comes with two sides and a naan which is very traditional. And the sides tasted really good.
The salad served with the pulow was the top quality of a salad I've ever had at any halal restaurant in US.
Price $27 for a big plate of kabuli pulow with a lamb shank, two side currys kidney beans and spinach, one piece of naan and a bowl of Salad.
Two seekh of lamb tikka kabob. Pulow was enough for two people I couldn't finish it.
I'd come back always for fresh kabuli palow and the seekh tikka and kababs. It has been always my favorite to eat the pulow with the seekh tikka. Best combination and I'm glad I found one in America.
The star of show is the bbq chef. There can't be better bbq than this in California I've been everywhere. This is the real taste of Pakistan and Afghanistan with the lamb,beef bbq.
The bbq chef has actually worked in a famous restaurant in islamabad for 20 years so all can imagine.
Customer service is nice but can be improved alot. When I was sat in the restaurant there was alot of talking and chatting going on at the back.
Recommendation. if Pulow is not very fresh just steam it. Don't heat it any other way. But the best would be not serving if it's not made the same day. But steaming is only good for 12 hours so let's say you cook the pulow in morning it will keep it fresh until the end of the day
Amazing Afghan food! I tried the Qabuli Pallow and some beef kebabs. Everything was very authentic. They cooked the kebabs over a charcoal grill and were made to order. The flavors were delicious. The lamb was tender as can be and cooked to perfection. The kebabs were hot and fresh off the grill. They had a slight tangy taste. The chutney was a great addition to all the food we had. The quantity was sufficient to have leftovers for your next meal. Everyone there was warm and welcoming.
