Omarโs Hi-Way Chef Restaurant is a favorite of the Locals. Located inside the Tucson Truck Terminal in Tucson, Arizona, the Triple T was founded by Ira T. and Sallie Sue Morris in 1954.
In 1966 the truck stop moved from East Benson Hwy. to Interstate 10 at Cray croft Road (exit #268).
In 1996, Omar Ramirez came on board to run the Hi-Way Chef Restaurant.
Ramirez is a Tucson native and a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and was named Chef of the Year by the Southern Arizona Chefโs Association in 1998.
The Hi-Way Chef was featured on Food Networkโs Top 5, 18 Wheel Meals segment where it was awarded the honor of being the Number 2 truck stop in the country.
December, 2014, Tucson Newspaper readers voted Omarโs the Best Breakfast place in Tucson.
We have also been highlighted in many newspapers, magazines, and trucking gazettes.

4 months agoOur server was top notch but unfortunately she was the only server for the entire restaurant until the next shift. I don't know how she pulled it off but I'll tip my hat to her. Those fried potatoes are amazing. I wish they used those on the loaded fries instead of the tater tots. The breakfast burrito was cooked perfectly. I added those fried potatoes which gave it a crunch. Bacon, sausage, eggs, and toast was how I remember how my mom made it. I had that moment of ratatouille where the critic eats the meal and has that moment when he was a child.

5 months agoWe hadn't been here in some time, but it was as good as it was the last time we came. The waitress was a delight and had a great sense of humor and was very attentive. 3 of us had the classic breakfast, which is 2 eggs, hash browns/fried potatoes and choice of meat. We chose bacon. The 4th person had chicken fried steak with 3 eggs and hash browns. The chicken fried steak had just the right amount of breading. One of the best he has had.

4 months agoBeing our first time in Arizona, this place gave us a true Tuscon, Arizona welcome! As soon as we walked into the restaurant, it was like being transported back to a 50's diner. We sat where we could chat with the server whom was very nice, it was the middle of the night, so not too busy and conversation could be afforded. My partner and I had a chorizo burrito (nice and spicy) and wings (juicy and seasoned wonderfully). For dessert, we had their lava cake with icecream and boy do they give you your monies worth! The portions were shareable and affordable. This experience set a positive and warming tone for our visit and we will be comming back.

6 months ago**Updated Review 3/10/24** They just updated the menu and prices with some substantial price increases. I was disappointed to see 2 breakfasts and 2 coffees cost me over $50!!! I know itโs a sign of the times, but a dozen eggs costs $2-3 at any market, and adding an extra egg to my plate was nearly $4 extra!! So Iโll be passing on this location from now on. Itโs good, but not that good. Open 24 hours, working overnights this place comes in clutch when nothing else is open. Great diner options, good portion sizes, and ok prices. I donโt mind spending if the food is worth it. This place, after several visits, hits the nail on the head every time! Foods always fresh, service is friendly, restaurant is super clean inside. Doesnโt always look open from the outside. But they are.

a year agoOmar's Hi-Way Restaurant at the TTT is a fantastic find! This place has it all โ a diner, motel, truck stop, gift store, arcade, and even a Candy Castle! The portions here are enormous, so you won't leave hungry. The food is good, just what you'd expect from classic American dining with a touch of Mexican and Italian influences. Don't miss their deep-dish apple pie topped with soft serve ice cream โ it's a heavenly treat. Open 24/7, Omar's is perfect for breakfast any time of the day and has a menu for kids too. If you're in Tucson, make sure to swing by this hidden gem and enjoy the old-time atmosphere.
